The title basically sum it up.
Don't know if it is intended or not. However I think, being the only person who knows how to ski in the Iron age, the character probably need no more extra buff to be overpowered in the winter.

Gameplay questions / Re: squeezing damage?

Bear hugs? Never thought this kind of attack exists. Probably won't have a chance to experience such thing through.  :-\

Gameplay questions / squeezing damage?

What kind of weapon/ enemy would inflict such type of damage? Is this type damage still exists in game? thanks :)

Before we start, this actually already happened before the weight conversation feature introduced (probably could trace back to 3.62 or earlier) and I think it is not really related to the latest update.

So here's the weird weight penalty I noticed: I got 4 pieces of armor, weighted 1.4kg, 2.3kg, 10.4kg and 13.6kg respectively.
If I wear the armors in the following sequence: 1.4 + 2.3 + 10.4 + 13.6, the total weight shown in the right panel is 27.9kg (btw this is wrong and should be 27.7kg?), and more importantly, the weight penalty would be 7%.

However, if I wear the armors in the following sequence: 13.6 + 10.4 + 2.3 + 1.4, the total weight remained unchanged (27.9kg) BUT the weight penalty is 8%

My character has a weight of 60kg. In-game photos attached and if save is needed, I can provide it anytime :)

Off-topic / Moon and sun in the sky at the same time?
« on: July 10, 2021, 11:53:18 AM »
Well I don't know if this is gameplay question or IRL question but I put it here anyway.
After the moon phase update implemented, I noticed quite often the moon hanging in the sky at both daytime and night.
Is it only game illustration issue, or it is representing the exact phenomena we would see in Finland during winter?  ???

Bug reports / [3.70b] Friendly animals fought each others

So this time I was travelling with my hounds and the bull for a winter hunting trip as usual. It was calm and snowy on the road.
All of a sudden and without any obvious triggers, my bull rammed one of my dogs and subsequently, my dog decided to bite back.
Lucky for me, the "unleash - and - leash" trick still works and both animals calmed down rather quickly.

I don't if it is a bug or intended feature, but man, this is the third time it happened to me.
Did anyone experienced similar thing? Do anyone knows how do I prevent this from happening again? Many thanks.

When changes the unit of measurement to metric, the unit of weight remains to be lb instead of kg in the right upper panel.
Good new is the value did converted.

Update: The unit is corrected after reloading the game.

For a quick remedy, to be able to continue playing, you can delete WEATHER.DAT from character's folders.
Then new weather is generated upon loading the character next time, and it should be sane one. :)

Maybe it's wise to back-up character in any case before the file delete.

It works quite well for my migrated character for now :D will update if the weather gone silly again.

General Discussion / Re: 1070 Hours

Just realize I spent 700 hours on one single character, quality time indeed. Can't wait to continue my adventure when next update arrive :P

If you don't mind cheesy approach, lure them to the location near river and sea, bring yourself a punt and the rest in about lure them into water and watch them drown. Lure them to nearby village (if any) might also works but 9 wolves might overrun a medium size village easily.

I myself like to roleplay so these aren't really my options. If I were in such situation, use a livestock as a bait i.e. sheep and surround it with tons of deadfall traps sounds good to me. Good luck hunting :)

General Discussion / Re: How do you plan your year?
« on: October 27, 2020, 06:07:02 PM »
My second character is on his 5th year, currently having a winter vacation from a building project that lasted more than half a year.
Usually there's no fixed routine for him but hey, do the right thing at the right time save you tons of efforts. Besides I become lazier since the latest update nerfed smoking food while keeps drying food unchanged, so here's what a typical year of his life looks like:

Late autumn - winter: Hunting, mostly big games. Usually I wait until the time when snowing is less frequent so animal trails is much easier to see in screen, then pack furs to my bull for kota and bring my hounds with me to hunting grounds I founded earlier, a nice large area of mires in kaumo land. The aim is simple: bring home as much as the dried meat you need in the next year, so I won't have to smoke meats in summer as it is far too time consuming in current update (but I still like this change, ha)

Late winter: Idle. Daydream next to my still warm with ember fireplace. Make lots of stew. Feed dogs. Fish occasionally. Practice skills. Experiment on things. I mean, animals are most likely hiding in this freezing time of the year, and I did hunt in this season once and end-up nearly freezing to death, not going to do it again.

Spring- Very early summer: Mostly farming. I like the views of different crops grow across my field, though I don't actually rely on crops to live.  I also do some of the special rituals since my time is quite flexible in this season.

Early summer- Autumn: My "project" season. Every time in this season I come up with something that require a lot of time and efforts. i.e. This year I built a very large barn, last year I explored the entire southern coast.

When I feel bored I usually patrol around my settlement and wander to nearby villages and see if I can get quests or not.

In the past I always use sliver ring for the sacrifice ritual for forest spirits, the ritual success every time but the ring never get consumed. Last time I change what I use to sacrifice into a sliver chain bracelet and this time it got consumed for 1/3. I guess the sliver ring never get consumed is abnormal then?

Actually I had witnessed the whole thing and even asked his name before he decided to end his life in the water pit. That guy didn't struggle at all, what a tough guy.   :P

General Discussion / Travelling adventurer: A new discovery?
« on: October 03, 2020, 02:57:24 AM »
Did you ever encounter adventurers travel to other regions other than his own tribe territory? (Apart from vagabond/ forester adventurer)
I had encountered twice and both of them are kaumolaiset, and I even had met one of them in Kaumo region before I met him again in Driik region.
I wonder if others have similar experiences? Is it only kaumolaiset travel far from their homeland or other adventurers from different tribes do the same?

Sadly that's not the case, I just drag him out from the well for a better angle of selfie.
