I am looking into buying a silver necklace. As I dont have the right goods I put it down. Yes, it is on the ground.

Going to one of my camps bringing in boards for crafting I was approached and now threatened for the silver necklace.

I'm looking at my inventory. The silver necklace is NOT on me.

Combining with the other thread the village trade is failing to detect what is being put down and transfer or not transfer of who is the owner.

While resetting traps in a trap fence my aim was off and I kicked down a fence section.

No problem thought I, just a few minute to rebuild...

... no materials were placed.

The stakes and cords ought to be left on the map, or at least the stakes.

Okay, I was suspecting this now I can confirm it.

A pot just lost its unpaid status.

Tuukka, of my story thread, has long been staying at a month. Im doing the island challenge so he has chosen to get to this second island and stay in the village for the ice-bound months.

On an earlier visit to the trade house I picked up the pot (unpaid) and found it was too much to afford.

Week or so later Tukka has made a shelves to trade. The shelves are a custom BAC mod item. Being heavy I dragged them over. I wanted to see if the shelves would cover all or most of the cost of the iron pot. Picking up the pot and talking to a villager they don't acknowledge the pot as needing payment.

In my inventory the pot says (unpaid)

Dropping the pot the pot no longer says (unpaid)

I haven't given them payment!

I was pretty sure this free-pay had happened before with a bag of barley grains.

I think the common elements of the bug are:

- extended stay of weeks in a village
- making things in the village
- dropping and picking up my own things
- picking up an unpaid item
- dropping an unpaid item
- more crafting, dropping, picking up my own things
- picking it up as (unpaid)
- it has lost the (unpaid) flag

I have been doing my regular zip file saving so can send over game files at various stages.

For requesting NPC commands

oh... and before I forget maybe in the Communication with them mention the other commands like ! and ; as ways to interact with them.

Fell trees to:
Fell tall trees (for tree trunks)
Fell young trees (for slender rods)

Add cut trunk into blocks (alternate to boards)

Make stakes (out of slender trees)
(This would allow the helper to be a good partner when laying a long trap fence)

Modding / How to add items to the Clothes menu?

My own BAC notes are that I hadn't been able to add item the vanilla game's "Clothes" menu. Its only partially filled.

Has anyone figured out how to add items into the that menu?

Currently BAC is using its "Armor group one" for clothing items like shoes. Each item I could put into shoes is one more space for something else in armor.

Gameplay questions / Getting tools back from helpers

I hired a woodsman to come help me. He didn't have any axes. So I gave him my only axe, a stone axe.

He has felled trees and made many boards for me.

I don't see how to get my stone-axe back from him.

Under communication

"T" trade with NPC is off now, to avoid exploits of robbing them. I get that.

I can "D" Deliver as in give them an item, that is how I gave him my only axe.

The "!" menu doesn't show any options for return my gear.

Related to this I wanted him to help carry some boards. I would want to give them to him and get them back too.

Not bugs / [Not a bug] NPC no option to chop trees?

Playing 3.63

Confused a bit here as I'm veteran player and have done this before but having issues today.

I hired a Woodsman NPC. Using Shift-C for communication, select him, get the NPC talk window, select command...

The only option is to dismiss him  :o

Checking his inventory he has no axe. Gave him a stone-axe. Still no option to fell trees.

Am I totally forgetting how to command NPCs or is something else going on?

Suggestions / Well icon for villages

Arriving into an unfamiliar village in the winter I really am having trouble finding where the water tile is. This would be handy to drink from. The villagers have a source of water for themselves.

The use of a normal water tile means that with snow and ice it becomes blurred into the town. Even looking at a 5 x 5 centered around the "shelter" marker didn't find it.

It would be nice if we could have the village water tile as a well or barrel. That would also become a graphic we modders could access for the player's own stead.

Bug reports / Cant get back to shelter

Can;t get back to my shelter

Currently trying an island challenge. The Island I picked was close to the world's west edge so at first I thought these messages you can't go that way were related to game-mechanic limit.

Started being cut off from parts of the island I had been too.

Character has minimal gear so is harvesting alot of branches to burn just to stay alive. A shelter was built with several nights there burning 100s of branches at at time.

Now...

Its serious.

On a gather trip I can no longer get back to my shelter.

The attached pic shows the situation. The dashed vertical line appears to be the motion limit. On the left side is character close to freezing to death with a temporary fire looking to dash home to the shelter. On the right is the shelter by the water, with stocks of branches to burn.

In the text on the right is the message of cant go further.

Character has made occasional most days General Sacrifice of flowers and the odd berry.

I think if this character cant get to the shelter the might die this night. Rebuilding another shelter they might live through but how are they getting cut off? ITs an island so there is only so much 'cut off' one can have before being out of land.

Bug reports / [3.63] Quick burn standing trees

As part of the harsh island challenge Im setting standing trees alight. They burn out and gone very quickly. There is never a big fire like you get if the tree was felled into a "tree trunk". The amount of wood is the same.

Not sure if this was intentional to stop forest fires.
