Kota interior + cellar.

I have a kota with a 5x5 interior. If I make one of those spaces into a cellar, will the kota fail to warm properly on the inside?

The cellar tile counts as open air. So your Kota will likely warm like an unfinished Kota would.
Make a backup, see if your Kota loses section of the wall (slender trunk and 8lbs+ hide), my guess is yes... and if it does, revert back to the save.
