the thing i always struggle with the most when it comes to multiple trap sites, is ensuring that they all stay baited.  do you have a set schedule for replacing baits, and what do you use for bait?

I just go in a round-trip like once per week, more often on hot months. Trap reset twice per month maybe?

Just caught 2 bears within 1 week in the early spring. Now I got 48lbs of bear fur, 350+ cut of dried meat. Never felt better than this..

I know how you feel. I don’t do trapping, but I have killed bears and elk. The amount of meat you get is intense, I have around 600 dried meat stored in my cellar and like 50lbs of fur. Hunting is op if you know what you’re doing! :)

600 dried meat and yet I keep my dog hungry, am I a bad person xD

Sami should make the spirits angry at you for this.  :'(

It’s not such a big deal! I tie him to a tree and go trading! If you put on enough headgear the barking, wincing and howling noises get muffled  :P
My character is an atheist anyway, so none of that spirit stuff worries him :D

Speaking of dogs, they should probably run away if they’re too hungry.

Or turn on you and eat you alive.

Nearly made it through a full year... had zero luck trapping any big game, but was surviving just fine nonetheless - until freezing to death in mid-January while trying to start a fire. Oh well. :/

Trying to complete The Challenge for second time. Luckily few days in game and rabbit went into ice that melted and rabbit drowned. 0.5 lbs of fur means stone axe from the beginning - that's like finding a treasure.  ;D

Just had an unusual event happen - was escorting a lost vagabond back to civilization, and ran into a squirrel on the overworld map and decided to take it for dinner.  I chased it up a tree and was throwing rocks, I had managed to hit it in the foreleg when all of a sudden an aggravated hawk swooped in, and knocked the squirrel out of the tree.  I threw my rock at the bird, and it fled.  I stomped on the big squirrel to put it out of its misery.  It had been gruesomely shredded by talons.  I wonder what it could portend...

On Day 1 of the 12th week before midwinter point, at his large cabin by the lake at "Black Rapid", Jarrold Kaumolainen successfully forged* a fine small knife on his second attempt. His two dogs, Spot and Rascal, were not impressed.

In the 9 months since his father perished on an unfortunate hunting trip, Jarrold has successfully colonized Black Rapid, met water spirits and forest maids, found milkweed, rescued two wounded adventurers' gear, felled a tree in the rain, passed weird messages between villagers, and done minor chores.

His notable kills include a 4 Njerpez, a lynx, a bear, a dozen forest reindeer, another dozen elk, and countless squirrels, hares, and small birds. He has travelled from his cabin on the edge of Koivula territory to the western shore of the Driik.

His next plan is to forge a fine carving axe, and he's considering an expedition against the Njerpez for next spring.

I found this very secure house.  Is the builder still trapped inside?

I lost a faithful companion on this sad day. Kolja the dog met his unfortunate untimely demise while bravely fighting a ferocious lynx during a hunting trip. May he be remembered for his loyalty, his bravery, and his habit of interrupting my sleep by barking at trapped birds.

Was going home from nearby village. Just bought 2 big bulls.  8)

Taking a nap in the middle of the trip. Wake up to strange sound. Saw a pack of wolf trying to eat my big bulls.
Went into berserk mode. Bring out the masterwork longbow and superior broadhead arrow.
Keep shooting at all wolf. Kill the entire wolf pack. Even enough to get the message "The forest seem hostile."
In the end, 1 big bull and 8 wolf was KIA.
