How to collect lake reeds without getting cold?

Be "ready to drop" tired. The character floats over the water and does not get cold. =P

I tested this, and true indeed it's confusing sight with the character lying down on top of the water, but I got the effect of cold water still affecting to my character at least, and his warmth kept dropping the longer he floated.
