The ritual skill grants access to a wide range of spells and incantations. These can improve your items, boost your luck and potentially alter the environment, all to your benefit. Characters start out in the world knowing a few random rituals appropriate to their culture. New rituals are learned as quest rewards, or can be selected as rewards for completing a game course.

The most fundamental ritual is General Sacrifice , which all characters know initially: to gain favor with the spirits, you can sacrifice a food item or a small bit of precious metal. Sacrificing more than once per day or sacrificing spoiled food will not have a positive effect, and the item will still be consumed.

Note that if you sacrifice food in a container, for example a pot, you will lose the pot as well.

There are two types of rituals:

  • Green Rituals can be initiated from the F4 ritual menu directly.
  • Yellow Rituals require you to perform certain actions in the world as described in the ritual. Oftentimes there will be no clear indication whether the ritual has been completed or that it affected anything.
