Unlike a 'Lost axe' quest, the sage didn't point out the exact terrain to search.

I understand that in the F6-Map there is no area given? If that is the case you missed a part of the quest instruction at the village.

General Discussion / Re: Bonfire is a bug
« on: August 16, 2020, 09:56:55 PM »
Human NPC can enter trap pits and get hurt or die. I saw a bunch of robbers who didnt enter the pits but just walked over them. I thought it possibly depends on the trapping skill if they get caught or not, but I dont know it. Otherwise it could be a bug.

Saw a Njerp Warrior who entered a heavy deadfall trap. The trap triggered but the warrior did not get hurt.

Where do you like to put the fire. One time there was a bear in a cave and I let my adventurer light a big fire in the entrance but the bear didnt get in sight. I gave that up as the entrance was for climbing.

I dont think you can stop NPC with a fire effectively but could easily trap yourself. In some old post someone mentioned to use some big fires at night in a range around him when it worked out that he wasnt seen by the NPC when the NPC was visible.

Still cant follow that train of thoughts - a fight because of a bird or a cut tree (?); anyway the bluff can be a last option. Hope the bear was not tamed:

No reason to be upset, its like this, maybe: Bug (unequal) Unsound. It is unequal even if i did not find the appropriate singn for it :)

Still unsound also = wrong.

Got me?

I was thinking about that and I have to confirm that I did not really understand yet: Why is it smart to piss of a guy who passes your way (somewhere) who didnt do anything wrong?

Thx for comment anyway. Let me confirm to you that i appreciate an impartial comment for sure.

Maybe its correct maybe not as the southern wall worked without floor. Therefore I tried the shutter in the northern wall again where it didnt work (see pic). And what in reality there is no wall with a hole possible in the anywhere with a direction to choose?

However I count that as unsound.

Wall with a shutter does not arrange accurately anymore (?) As required there are two full build wall tiles besides, and YES they are both northern walls.

Off-topic / Re: Who were "Njerpez" ?
« on: August 09, 2020, 07:04:24 PM »
Yeah, I was searching for the historical proof that the Nerpez never tried to reach the western and northern cultures, as the changelog to [3.63] briefly tells us:

Quote
Version: 3.63 (stable)
[...] - adjusted: wandering Njerpez commonness based on the region
Wandering Njerpez are most commonly met in the east and south-east. That's an old rule which hasn't changed, but in the previous versions the borderline of their existence and non-existence was strict and rigid. Now the wandering Njerpez commonness is more gradual, decreasing the further into the west and north you go. Now it's been also verified that Njerpez raiders don't ever try to reach regions of western and northern cultures, so that's where to settle if you want to avoid raiders completely.

 ;D

The reasons are:
1. Njerpez didnt acually exist. (Main reson)
2. They were modified by artists freedom.
3. They could have been existing in the Indian Ocean even if they were hunting there for other type of seals than in the game:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eared_seal
4. They acually were not humans because they only curse and dont talk to people. Probably also eat people.
5. They could not have been russians because on the one hand side there also must have been swedes, which are not been found and on the other hand side the etymological reference does not fit, because the referring tribe is on the wrong side of the map.

Etymological interesting reference, thanks :)

What i found isnt much and does not fit but can mention it:
- Settlement from the baltic region, early indogermanic, the absorbed. (3000 BC, far too early)
- Turcic/Mogolic wars. Influence to the region not before 1250. (too late)
- Moskovit expansion to the region around 1500. (even later)
- Only thing is left that at this time, is that Samojedic tribes were there at this time (~900), which culture is after Moskovit expansion left more to the north east. But those are like Finnish cousins and cant call them a different culture with a good conscienceness. They were (are) living from reindeer. Those were there, but dont fit to the hypothesis of Njerpez as the game describes it.

Several times I thought, let me look that up, but I coudnt find any reference in the internet. Any trial with the word leads me to some game referring sites only. Trying from direction of sites about Finnish history there also was no hint of invaders from the east at later iron age.

Did someone find any reference here?

[...]What I would want is a function to challenge others into some kind of duel, preferably unarmed (which also makes this skill finally useful?) to avoid either of the sides get into life-threatening situation. It's like you being the robber - Engage in conversation, if npc denied the demand, a fight begin and the winner can throw the loser's unconscious body to several kms away.

> The skill is useful already. In hunting and fighting an archer combines it with the bow when he does not need to unwield the bow. Kicking is a serious attack of blunt type even more of a 100 kilo guy hits the opponents legs at the right point.

> You want some wild guy in the no mans land/wildernes to do what YOU want to his disadvantage?  ;D You want a button to force him to fight you without weapon? Isnt that a bit too unrealistic? He asks you to put down your weapon first  ;D Or he apologizes and comes back with ten of his friends next day.

> How do you think you can claim the wilderness where is no mans land as your territory?

> Any change is work for the Admins. Here think about whats important and whats unimportant.

No, skyleaf, please please forget that :)

Bug reports / Re: [3.63] Arrows drown in water?

Again;

> it was wide open area (open mire), easy to be checked and i checked each part of the map in the direction where the arrows went. There was nothing.
> the arrows went on flat ground on a near target on the flat ground (trapped bear). Those arrows dont fly really far normally. The situation *PALU ment is i.e. shooting uphill or downhill from mountains; shooting at birds in flight; which were not the case.
> even in the lake-case but also in the open-mire-case i heard the arrows splashing the water surface. Normally one does not hear that when the arrows went far.
