Not bugs / Re: [3.63] NPC hunters don't pick up their arrows.

If you give your companion an instruction to stay somewhere for a short time, and then leave him too far away, he cannot find you, and he cannot tell you when the mission deadline is reached that he is going to return to the village, he will stay where he is

I’ve never encountered a drowning companion before, and I don’t know the cause of their death is cold or fatigue

I don’t know why you are looking for it, but merchants will carry a small amount
If you settle near the swamp, you will easily find traces of the merchant

I am sure that the crossbow is more accurate than the longbow or the shortbow

When prompted to hear or see an animal, you will have a chance to find the trace. Roll a character with high vision will help you find prey on the world map

General Discussion / Re: "The Challenge"
« on: August 22, 2020, 07:54:32 AM »
It's really simple, it only requires high fishing skills. Even if it starts with a serious injury, you can live by fishing. This is boring, because when you are satisfied to survive, the so-called challenge only takes time to accumulate. If you are unlucky, you are doomed to die. If you are lucky, it is not too challenging. Since there is no clothes, there are two solutions to the problem of keeping warm. To steal clothes in the village, you need to be lucky to reach the village. After solving the warmth problem, you have more time to find places to fish to meet your food needs. The second solution is constant fire, which wastes a lot of time, requires high fishing skills, and is lucky to find waters where you can fish.

General Discussion / Re: Bonfire is a bug
« on: August 22, 2020, 07:36:52 AM »
Human NPC can enter trap pits and get hurt or die. I saw a bunch of robbers who didnt enter the pits but just walked over them. I thought it possibly depends on the trapping skill if they get caught or not, but I dont know it. Otherwise it could be a bug.

Saw a Njerp Warrior who entered a heavy deadfall trap. The trap triggered but the warrior did not get hurt.

Where do you like to put the fire. One time there was a bear in a cave and I let my adventurer light a big fire in the entrance but the bear didnt get in sight. I gave that up as the entrance was for climbing.

I dont think you can stop NPC with a fire effectively but could easily trap yourself. In some old post someone mentioned to use some big fires at night in a range around him when it worked out that he wasnt seen by the NPC when the NPC was visible.

What I mean is that bonfires can stop the NPC from moving forward, surround yourself with bonfires and trees, as long as you have a bow and enough arrows, you can easily kill targets that lack long-range attacks.

I had recruited an adventurer long time ago, disbanded him near my settlement which is quite faraway (around 5km?) from his original village. Haven't seen him since then, he is not returned to the village and I have not notice any tracks might be related to him, neither on zoom in or zoom out map. It hasn't been a problem until I want to recruit another villager. None of them agree to go with me "until they saw the left adventurer again". I am clueless on his whereabouts but felt a little bit responsible for his missing, so I want to ask if anyone have any suggestion on how can I find this missing adventurer? or his body? It could be in-game method or other method (cheat?), I dont mind and thanks in advance.

From my experience, he will return to the village by himself. I once hired a very powerful adventurer and gave him armor and weapons for a long-term adventure. Then he returned to the village, and after a few years, he still did not agree to my invitation to travel again.

You can try using trap pit, it can effectively distinguish different creatures (excluding birds)

Can't you make a perfect fox trap without a masterpiece knife?

I've never done processing on the world map, and I don't think it really is intended. I bring corpses of Njerps and robbers up to the world map and leave them there to rot so I can see when the bones are ready for collection.

You can use a log rather than a trunk for processing, although a table is preferred. However, I do all my processing at my homestead (except skinning and butchering of large animals, which I perform where they fell).

I found a way to delete it. It turns out that the items that once belonged to the player will have an attribute, and you can use "d" or "shift+d" to delete

Gameplay questions / Re: How do I build wealth

It seems that the net will be damaged, I am not sure. Someone above said that to make arrows, feathers are not difficult to obtain. Set traps near the water or in a swamp. Don’t kill the birds. Wait for them to starve to death. You can get more feathers

Too much is lost in translation...

- Leather/bull/tree trunk?
- Make "it" "disappear"?
- You can push logs onto big cows, and it may be possible to push whole tree trunks onto big bulls (I've never used bulls. They're lousy milk producers).
- I've never tried to take a log from a cow on the overworld map as I've seen no use for that. However, it may be that you get a message that it's too heavy and ask if you want to pull it off instead. If that's the case you can probably not push it on again. I've pushed my log onto my cow, zoomed out to the overworld map, walked to my homestead, zoomed in, walked to the building site, pulled the log off, zoomed out to the overworld map, gone to the logging area, entered and prepared the next log, pushed it onto the cow...

Have you tried to deal with fur on the world map? I haven't bought bull before, and I don't know that I can bring the tree trunk to the world map. Before I know this, I can only complete four steps on the world map, skin an animal, clean the skin, tan, tan, (I rarely make leather)
The final processing I have to zoom in back to the minimap. If the tree trunk is brought to the world map, there is no need for zooming in. But I have a question, which is how to put tree trunk back on the bull of the world map. If I am ready to hunt, I rarely return to the settlement, I will process the fur on the world map, wandering around while waiting, hoping to find prey

I mean, on the map of the world, the lake is a small puddle, and the fur can be treated on the side. The last step of processing the fur requires a trunk, so I cut down a tree, put the trunk on the bull, then, zooming out, came to the world map, next to the puddle representing the lake, took out the trunk. In this way, I don’t need zooming in when processing fur. Sometimes I get a lot of unprocessed fur. Processing these fur on the world map can avoid frequent zooming in and zooming out, because both require short loading time.

The initial proficiency of production skills is low. It will be better to add two points after completing the two task chains, but that will be a long time later. If you plan to stay at home, you should need cows. When I try to be a craftsman, I always need to go busy with food, hunting, farming, or fishing. Craftsmen need a stable food supply. If you choose a culture that is good at fighting, hunting is the best choice. If your skills are not high enough, you can consider using traps, which are very efficient, as long as you target meat, fish, or turnips. Fox traps are hit all the time. I once encountered three bears in a small area, set up three traps, starved the three bears... Hunting animals need to use long-range weapons because they will run away, bows or javelins, or unpopular crossbows. Use traps to trap animals, then use these animals to train your skills. I'm not sure if you hate hunting, or think that hunting is too slow to accumulate wealth. If it is the latter, you can roll out a higher vision when creating characters, so that you can easily find prey. Speed is not that important for hunting. It’s good to grasp the timing of sneaking, but speed is very important for the overall progress of the game
