Gameplay questions / Rye and Barley are not good crop?

I like my character eating flat bread, but talking about bake it, it's really a laborious job!
First I have to harvest it and thresh them all like other kinds of crops.
After that I have to grind them to peel chaff and make them ready to cook.

The grinding job is really tiresome and yields almost nothing comparing to the time I spend.
Because it consumes a lot of time, this job usually require more calories then I can get from flatbread.

I really like peas, broad beans and turnips because they yield a lot of crops and need no prepare job.
On the contrary to this rye and barley require extra jobs which make their value low in my opinion.

You would have been a rich man to buy all the cows in the game.  :D

But I don't think they respawn.  At least I've noticed that dogs don't respawn.  If I buy all the animals in a given village, that village never gets anymore even though they have an empty pen.  Maybe I haven't played long enough with one character.  But I've seen harvests come and go with no animal respawns.

That might change with dogs though if Sami is working on dogs in villages now.

I robbed some foreign traders and contributed to local society! :D

That's a bad news. I worry that village will empty someday.

I lost my Cow because of wolf and I just wonder,
what if I lost all my cows and I don't have anywhere to buy one anymore?

I found that Loading and Saving get slow at some point without certain reason.
It was not a save file problem. I backed up my character and reinstalled the game, then load the same character, and it just get fast as normal. I worry this could be a potential game corruption, so I report it here just in case!

I put silver thing (in my case I used sliver ring) on ant nest as sacrifice at night and waited until next morning to meet forest spirit or something. But nothing happened and this is my third attempt. How can I finish the ritual?

Like, If I make the large farmland size of 1 wilderness map tile, Does it change into farmland?

The menu file "menudef_private" should only contain the menu definition.
The task(s) need to be separate in a file named diy_whatever.txt

Than how should I make a recipe file?
If I put the recipe in diy_glossary it just works fine.
Do I have to make separate memo file?

Modifying default core-recipe file(diy_glossary) is getting messy,
so I was trying to make a new recipe menu.

According to the menudef_additional.txt, I thought I can make my own recipe.
I tried to follow the instructions, but I couldn't see the new Handcraft options.
I mean I can access the 'My weapon' submenu, but I couldn't see anything after that. It was just blank.

you can change the tile for sure, though changing the elevation I've not tried.

anything
