I've tried various roots, like bear pipe roots is the one I have in my skin at the moment. And some leaves (nettle I think?).

How the heck is dried meat unworthy of a trade?! It's supposed to be the major medium of trade that I as a starting character can get! I trap animals an dry the meat and then the bloody villages won't take it, so how the heck am I supposed to trade?!

Why?? I boil beverages from herbs for their herbal effect (which I'm not sure I'm getting) and they fill up my hunger, rather than my thirst? This is puzzling...

This message pops up every time you run a program.
I'm running with latest version.

"InvalidArgument=Value of '7' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'"

If I ignore it and proceed, the game says the character files has been corrupted.

Its a bug with one of the combo box's not having an index for some of the new ranges for values in the old physique and phobia addresses. If you use it on a different character, it should work. I started porting this over to URWME, been gaming alot with friends so havent done much coding recently. Eventually I'll get around to updating/releasing my new stuff.

Definitely looking forward to the update, recall some of the stuff you shared on Discord awhile back.

It looks like the Northern Staff Bow isn't working correctly. I can produce it, and when I use it, it tells me it lacks a bowstring, but when I "a"pply a bowstring and try to repair it, it tells me it's not a bow. So I'm at a loss here. :(

Any news on an update for 3.7.0, I tried to see if the current version of the mod works with the beta, and no dice.  :'(

If you need some help. I can try to learn the basics and provide some assistance.

When I can, is probably the best answer I can give you for an update.

I've been thinking about that answer for about 30 minutes now so, hopefully that's better than a dishonest response or nothing at all lol. I've just got a lot on my mind. Updating the addresses isn't a very hard task to do, I just want to do more than that, and I don't know when I'll have the stroke of motivation to do what I want to do with this project. Maybe soon, maybe not. I've been working on implementing containers into the URWME project, still have some loose ends to tie up on that but maybe after I get that functioning I can return to working on a superior version of this.

I may end up updating the addresses before that, but, I don't know. I was also hoping to do it after stable release, but yea. We'll see. I appreciate the support, it has definitely helped along the way.



Also, neat workaround by ineedcords there, for some functionality.

When I start a game with this mod the F - Fishing menu becomes empty, so I can't deal with hooks and rods. Not running any other mods.

I did offer to coordinate updates but it seems nobody was interested in helping. I am working on a version update but it will take some time as I have 3 other projects that I am working on and urw mod was waiting for the final release version before doing much work. You could try Caethan's UnReal World self-sufficiency mod, much of BAC is based on it and there is a recent update for a beta version.

Thanks, I'll take a look. I am very much unfamiliar with modding for this game, but if you'd like to get in touch and give me an idea of what's needed for help I may be able to provide some level of assistance. Definitely not able/willing to do it on my own though, I won't live up to this legends rep.

I just tell my self that the critters are not as scared of people due low population density and lack exposure to our apex predator status, what with our strong jaws, sharp finger nails, tough hairy hides, keen sense of smell and hearing, and superior speed and strength what's not to fear.   ;)

So interesting, but if you read old Greco-Roman area/era reports of wild animals, which their military took excellent stock of, it depended wildly on season, number of people and normal animals in the area on how particularly aggressive wild animals were and how much they cared about the presence of humans as a deterrent. Modern reports show a significant decrease in generally willingness of animals to engage humans and their livestock, though this is also not universally true, and varies significantly in some areas of the world.

Though the lynxes in this game seem to be straight up suicidal insanity.

I'm a bit confused about the benefits, they seem to decrease my speed, though I assume they spend less energy moving from place to place? I mean, they're slower on snow than they are walking on my floor, and I don't know about anyone else, but when I try to walk around on a hard surface without snow in skis, it's quite difficult and not fast at all. Yet my speed in them is the same as without indoors, and faster than skis on snow. So confused.

Heh, for me personally picking berries is for:
1) bird trap bait
2) berry porridge for breakfast variety, mostly RP element.
3) pass time when waiting for dispersed forest reindeer or sow herd to regroup after getting spooked

You hunt em as herds? I have had little success with hunting overall. Always too fast and I always lose track of them when they flee.

Or add recipe “reconstitute berries” to get them back to pre-dried weight. Then use them in the recipes accepting them.
Rather than adding duplicate recipes to take dried berries with extra water.

Interesting, I wonder if this would be a bit cheaty though, because any recipe cooking changes spoilage, right?

So what I've noticed is, things that I know are definitely associated with the Forest say "You feel comfortable", where when I do just raw fish when I catch, it says "You feel at ease". I suspect that shows which spirit accepts the sacrifice.

“Comfortable” message is displayed when the sacrifice has great effect on the standing with the spirits.
“At ease” message is displayed when the receiving spirits appreciate it, but the effect is massive.
For example; sacrificing elk cut of freshly harvested animal should give “comfortable” message.
Maybe for several days. But after several days, few weeks, sacrificing those cuts will become “at ease” messages.
The sacrifice has greater effect if the status with spirits isn’t already “maxed out”

Well. That’s how I *think* it’s set.
Spirits are mysterious, and well, I for one, prefer it to stay that way.

Perhaps the effect is larger because my reputation with the water spirits had been so neglected unintentionally?
