These look jaw dropping, well done sir.

I would point out that you haven't done the snake yet, although to be fair most players never get to see one.  Also, rodents?  They must be even rarer than snakes, I don't recall ever seeing one!

Suggestions / Re: Unconscious and Unable To Walk fatigue
« on: February 28, 2023, 11:53:25 PM »
Fair comment; perhaps the solution would be to either lose consciousness through shock (that is, the accumulation of wounds leading to fainting) or losing consciousness because some extremely irritating person just whacked you in the head with an axe.  The former could leave you at the same fatigue level when you come round, the latter meaning you accrued some fatigue while you were sparked out?

Gameplay questions / Re: Does snow depth effect npcs combat abilities?
« on: February 28, 2023, 03:04:40 AM »
Snow will tire Njerps and other NPCs because they don't know how to ski, while you do.  Tiring them will reduce all their abilities, just as fatigue does with you.

If you're not being swarmed, you can loose an arrow, turn and ski a bit, loose an arrow, and as they chase you they will accumulate more fatigue depending on the depth of the snow.  This is fine if you meet one or two in the wilderness, but if you are attacking their camps or villages you will be getting swarmed.

I prefer to take them on in summer.  They do not seem to be as affected by deep snow as some animals, and having to unequip the ski stick to take a shot pretty much negates the ski advantage.  So I hunt them in summer with a good bow and plenty of armour, backing off before they get close enough to do me much damage.

Also bear in mind that some Njerps are grandmaster dodgers and swordsmen, and no matter what you do they have a very good chance of deleting your account  ;D

Suggestions / Unconscious and Unable To Walk fatigue
« on: February 28, 2023, 02:50:37 AM »
In recent wars against the Njerps I have noted that the ones who lose consciousness regain fatigue while they are sleepy-byes.  I have been knocked out a few times, and I can assure you that you do not awake feeling refreshed.  A severe concussion and maybe some puking is more normal.  I understand that adrenalin kicks in and gets you back in the game, but you are in no way feeling better about things.

Suggestion:  I think fatigue level should remain as is, or more likely worsen while a creature is unconscious.

My other gripe is watching those with leg wounds and "Unable to walk" recovering fatigue as they drag themselves across the dirt towards me.  Anyone who has crawled knows that it is not really very relaxing.

Suggestion:  Creatures with "Unable to walk" should incur a fatigue penalty when they move.

After watching a video on the Nenets I mentioned in the Suggestions forum that we should be able to eat raw meat, or even better have organs and blood represented in URW.

My video for today is "Let's make a neolithic longbow" from noted Norfolk neolithic nutcase Will Lord.  This is the kind of bow I think we see in URW:

Can't find a cave?  Not a problem for this bloke, he just makes his own.  No commentary, just him doing his stuff.  My Cave:

I was attacking a Njerp village, and once I had done for most of them I tied my eight dog meatshield to a tree next to four water tiles in an open mire.  When I came back from clearing the village around an hour later, four of my dogs had drowned.  It seems the dogs left on water tiles drowned, even though many dogs can occupy a single tile if need be.  They preferred to sink gloriously into the swamp than snuggle up.

Seems a little harsh  :'(

The Scatman cometh!  Please say it makes the bog squelching sound when you step onto the tile?

The suggestions are ways to reduce keystrokes, I know it is impossible to eliminate them!

I would love to make a hefty donation, but as an aging cripple I can barely afford new underpants  :-[

Bug reports / Re: [3.72#2 Win 10 Steam] Cannot drop duplicated leash on cow
« on: February 20, 2023, 01:36:28 PM »
Save sent!

There were no crashes, force quitting, editing files or anything like that.  I was pushing the game hard though, and getting errors about carrying too many items as I tried to load myself and the cows.

EDIT:  I suspect the leash duplicates may have occurred when I was already carrying the maximum number of items and then I took the leashes from the tree I had tied them to.  If this pushed me over the item carry limit, I may have dropped some stuff resulting in the leashes getting duplicated?

EDIT 2:  I would appreciate it if you could confirm that a defeated Njerp village can flip to Vagabond, erasing the Njerp buildings and presumably my cattle if they were tied to a tree within the area.  I just need to know whether I can expect to chew the cud with my beloved Ermintrude ever again, or if I should plan a mission to secure some replacements!

Good to know it can be done, if not easily!

Tragically I have come to believe that my cows are not merely lost, but victims of supernatural forces*

Apologies, your handle put me in mind of a Welsh person!

As a contemporary urban person, I either take a rainproof shell with me, or I think twice about which doorway to use as shelter.
Even if it's not occupied by someone else, when the door within an arm's reach to me (since I'm in the doorway) opens, I have not enough time to react to whomever or whatever (dogs WILL "protect" "their" doorway from me) comes out. Even people will most likely inquire me about what business I have in their doorway, and a polite inquiry in these parts often starts with a death threat, or at least a juicy insult, regardless of weather.
So an "urban asentokuusi" like that involves knowledge of the area, knowledge of the doorway/building (I might be able to even enter the staircase of a large tenement, no one will ask me wtf I'm doing there - but these places house a lot of people, so some of them are going to be troublesome, also these staircases tend to be really tight, so no reaction time against an attack), knowing how to talk oneself out of these "polite inquiries" and self-defense when things get hot. Usually getting a little wet is preferable to all this stuff, so knowing how to guess whether I'm going to get soaked out in the open or just a little wet is important too.

I take it you're from Cardiff?   ;D

Can see why you prefer the peace and quiet of a Finnish forest.

The Njerp villages I have cleared are labelled as Vagabond, but they remain the same as they were under Njerp control and so far I have not seen any new inhabitants in them.

Thank you for reassuring me that my new kota settlement may not mean I am going crazy!

Gameplay questions / Find map location from message log?
« on: February 18, 2023, 03:08:29 PM »
I seem to have lost my fleet of cows.  I parked them up somewhere while I went to attack a Njerp village, and now I can't remember where.

In the message log I can see that I tied them to a tree, and there is an alpha-numeric code for the entry.  Can I use this code to find the map location, or do I just have to keep looking?
