Re: What's Going On In Your Unreal World? Two robbers appear from nowhere and knock me out unconscious with only two hits and was well-armored, I take a look at the injuries and I discover a deep cut to the neck... I guess the long mail cowl I were wearing was made of paper because the severity bar is almost full to the point it could have been "Your neck has been cut in half", my PC almost had a year and was carrying some masterwork gear with me for a trade travel and the fact I got no warning (I didn't move adjacent to them in the world map) made me ragequit and quit living... Still I had a large stock of sorted furs and tools in home but there is something about in NPC robbers I find infuriating, dying to a bear or njerpez is one thing but losing your hard-earned stuff is aggravating...

I find ridiculous how numerous they are, no matter if their equipment is basic (handaxes, knives) or their skill is low they don't seem to flee if you kill one of their buddies or severely injure one of them and at the end they'll manage to knock you out soon or later, I wish there is a way to remove them in my playthroughts since I have more a lone wolf playstyle. Here in the UnReal World: more guys > gear & skill.

Time to drink some heather beverage for that swelling neck...

Trainers I think this was suggested in the old forums before but still I find this one particularly useful: Getting training for your skills, especially for weapons. Using the same formula for quest givers which reward you with a *Skill* lesson and once you perform a task in their respective area you instantly improve. In settlements there could be villagers experienced in certain skills they can teach you for a fee (food, tools, hides) until you reach their skill level, the more skilled you are it becomes slightly more expensive the training sessions, finding a grandmaster in a skill should be rare so it would encourage more travelling to different villages.

This could help especially non-fighters characters to receive safe training without losing a arm in the process and cut down the long grind of leveling up.

Re: How old is your oldest survivor poll? I have three characters with approximately 300 days of living, most of them died by the thrill of killing njerpez and bad luck (never again fighting someone with a bastard sword a and shield even if it has fur armor) but my most successful char had a nice cabin filled with everything (assorted weapons, a bunch of good quality furs, all kinds of plants for healing, etc) but the joy of combat got me.

As a side off topic note: ¿It is possible to flee from combat from a njerpez by running and manage to slip away or once you are injured enough it means you are good as dead?

One shot, one kill...

So... any medic available here? as far I can tell a arrow wound (with a crossbow) of that kind should be an instant kill due how deep the arrow has pierced the head, this is how I interpret every grade of the injury in the game:

Minor: Pierces the skin but only scratches the bone.
Serious: Pierces the bone but not enough to reach the brain.
Deep: Definitely manages to get to the brain (at least to poke it).

I'm not a doctor and my medical knowledge is somewhat rusted but as far I can tell a deep bleeding wound should be a fatal since you are obviously damaging a very important organ in the body, happened me three times in the game.

You'd be surprised by what adrenaline can do to a person. This link has several stories of people who have survived a major impalement:

https://www.oddee.com/item_98009.aspx

WARNING: There are graphic images in there so please consider that if you are bothered by it. I have a medical background and don't have any issue with seeing that kind of thing, but I feel it's only fair to warn you

I have seen a lot of graphic content in the past, I found those stories interesting to read, human body is fragile and at the same time resilient...

Back on topic, I just killed instantly a njerpez with a headshot, this time a broadhead arrow to the eye, I assume since that particular spot is clearly soft tissue the arrow just made its way easily inside and by being a broadhead type it just lacerated the brain enough to cause instant death, funny... one of my characters in the past got instantly killed the same way, made me ragequit as I saw "The wound prove to be fatal, you have died..." without any chance to do something about it.

Foreign traders Every time I come across the blue guys their wares are... disappointing, they seem to have rarely good wares with them but mostly they have very few items to sale or they have almost nothing interesting, I have better time trading with the Driik since they have more things available and accept everything as payment, if they want my precious furs then they be better bringing more gear with them for sale.

My two squirrels hides.

3.50 beta2 Human NPC unaffected by snow. Tested with robbers NPC on spring where the snow reachs the waist, when you run from then and they are hostile (not using skis) you tend to accumulate fatigue at a alarming rate while the robbers move at the same speed (even more) without getting any message of fatigue when I look at them. Njerpez are also inmune to the slow effects of the snow.
