Suggestions / Smaller characters should use smaller clothing/armour
« on: June 23, 2019, 12:13:21 AM »
Currently character has 5 possible body sizes. I would say that clothing should reflect this and have also a size. Larger items should weight more and cost more, while smaller items should be lighter and cheaper. You can wear clothing of different size but there would be penalty to your actions and/or its effectivness depending on size difference.

This would help smaller characters with their limited carry weight, while it would somewhat reduce supremacy of 120+kg Kaumos.

Gameplay questions / Flour question + Trading wild plants
« on: June 23, 2019, 12:09:13 AM »
I started a special playthrough (Vegan + 0% skills + very tiny character). So far I am doing fine surviving on lake reed and bearpipe, but I have two questions as this is mostly undiscovered territory for me (I loooove hunting to much.)

1. Is grinding lake reed into flour worth it? Flour is best utilized for bread?

2. Can any wild plant or its part be used for trading, to get some basic goods from villagers?

Thank you!

Gameplay questions / Smoking time
« on: June 14, 2019, 12:21:00 AM »
Anyone has an idea what smoking technique is used that it takes 16 days to complete?

As far as I know even the slowest methods used historically were at maximum 3 days. But usually around 24-36h. Meat smoked easily lasted for few months.

Suggestions / Wound treatment suggestion
« on: June 14, 2019, 12:11:23 AM »
Hello all,
I have a simple suggestion that should also be very easy to implement and more realistic than current solution.

Currently when you treat a wound, if you get a good roll (whatever you consider with your skill) no matter how large or severe your wound is you will never ever touch it again. This doesnt seem very logical as wounds need repeated treatment until they get healed. Also if you never treat your wound it will never get worse.

My proposal is twofold:

After you roll on "regeneration" in the morning, to see if your wounds improved, the state of each wound can worsen. Larger wounds and untreated wounds will have higher chance to worsen the state.

Wounds in critical state will have chance to actually increase the injury penalty and grow bigger.

This would mean that wounds (mainly the larger ones) will need daily attention, and not treating your wounds can be fatal.

Gameplay questions / Re: In the forest cover Quest
« on: June 11, 2019, 03:24:23 PM »
In the end I finished the quest. There were about 10 tracks total, none even remotly visible from zoom in location and I basically stumbled on the due to sheer luck. I employed a strategy that I zoomed in on each tile and walked few steps in each direction. Then zoomed out and moved to another tile. Here I had to move a lot as there was goshawk hunting a grouse right next to me. And due to heavy rain I nearly missed it anyway as there were so few tracks (many hidden visually behind trees).

All the tracks were old so I burned twigs on each of them and in area 3*3 around them just to be extra sure. The cow appeared.

But I still feel the quest could have been done much better, and if I ever get this quest offered I will just decline it. If there would be some better way how to find the animal then maybe it would be fun, but now it was a chore. Bad unrewarding and tiring chore that took me several hours to complete and  in the  end I was just lucky.

Proposal to Sami: What if there was another ritual to help you locate the spot better? I have a small idea. You could set a 3*3 tile of branches (inner tile could have different compostion then outer, so the game knows how to recognize it, even some a bit more rare resource could be used as part of the burning.) And after you light the inner tile the fire would spread in only one direction, direction where the animal is. This would give you general idea and you would have to repeat it few times on different spots. But it would feel much more in hands of the player.

Gameplay questions / In the forest cover Quest
« on: June 08, 2019, 08:12:24 PM »
Hello,

I received this quest and I searched the area left and right, top to bottom. Its huge and quest doesn't give any more info (unlike many other that say for example xxx bordering yyy in the east etc), and I spend over 5 hours real time trekking through the area. I am getting quite tired of it. Is there maybe some hint, how to find the tracks? Can it spawn only on specific tile etc? Anything would help.

Thank,
Valor.

PS.: My save file has nearly 1 gB now from all the tiles explored....

Solved'n'fixed bug reports / [Fixed - persists in 3.52] Big Boar(d)
« on: June 04, 2019, 12:08:17 AM »
I bought a big boar and after I named it Plumpy it is now "Big board called Plumpy".

This was not the case before naming. Save file, if it would be of any help, is available in dropbox:

Modding / Adding Warflail back help
« on: June 03, 2019, 02:24:10 AM »
Hello,

I am looking for a simple way to add warflail back into the game. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I know how to make a new weapon with crafting modding, but I am more interested how could I add them back into the shops/foreign traders, if that is even possible.

Thank you!

Gameplay questions / Are larger PC easier to hit with ranged attacks?
« on: August 06, 2018, 12:04:35 AM »
Hello,

Do larger characters make easier target for bows in combat? I feel like my 100kg/2m Kaumos are hit much more often than my 45kg/155cm Owls. Just information bias?

Thanks!
