Gameplay questions / Re: Short Questions/Quick Answers

What regions have the most animal activity? During summer or winter?

I know it seems like no mans land has more, but I'm planning on having a lone hunter, so I'd like the best spot.

Does matter much where you are, if you get this old man happy, you will get plenty of animal.

The happy old man aka forest spirit even invite me to hunt the bear.

Just perform the general sacrifice once per day.

and yea i know turnips spoil eventually, but that's not a real problem since i eat them before that happens. a turnip a day keeps the shaman away. but if the seeds spoil i'll need a system to get rid of my old spoiled seeds.

seed dont get spoiled. so, no worry for version 3.50.  :)

Suggestions / Inviting foreign trader to another location
« on: June 28, 2018, 08:41:52 AM »
The idea is to inviting the foreign trader to a better location for trading.

Example,
1) when meeting a foreign trader in spruce mire during winter time is a nightmare to trade. Its easily miss some of the trader in that wilderness.
2) sometimes you meet a trader that carry masterwork equipment that you been looking a while but turn out you do not carry any fur since you are out on hunting trip.
3) You dont carry very valueable fur all the time since the you might get mug by robbers

Suggestion,
1) Inviting the traders to a nearby pine/open mire to conduct business.
2) Inviting the traders to your nearby settlement to trade.

The decision to accept your invite will depend on
1) Distant to the invite location
2) Your reputation, whether you have frequent trade  previously, or kill and rob traders  8)
3) The invite location must be friendly or neutral zone. No njer, robber or hostile creature present.
4) The traders own time to live on the map. They will get despawn when the timer expired.

I believe that businessman aka foreign trader will be businessman whatever civilisation age they happen to be.
They will go anywhere for profit/trade unless that somewhere is well known for robbery, murder...

did they only have one village for you, or did you already wipe out the others? for me they always have several villages and completely wiping them out has never been a success, i've already lost several characters on this. (i did get half way tough)

If your char is not strong enough to solo, hire 10 to 20 NPC to storm the village.
For me, I use guerrilla warfare. Came from north, shot 10 to 20 arrow. Switch on my ski stick and ski away during winter.
Then repeat the tactic from east. west or south. You will tired out the NPC.

Notice 2 of my Njer kid slave never recover from their injury even after nearly 1 year.

As you can see in the picture, the woman heal just fine. This is same with all adult people.

Curious what you used to butcher it.
Blade quality and type can greatly affect the harvest.

All my weapon are masterwork quality. That why I felt strange getting so few meat compare to elk or bear.

My heaviest kill so far is 588 lbs. Its a big grey seal.   :o

But its give a very mediocre loot, not proportion to its weight.

you don't plan to breed that njerp do you?

wouls seriously consider that to prevent extinction. she the last njerp alive in the village.
once she is dead there will be no more njerp on the map except those randomly spawn warrior wandering on the map.

General Discussion / Re: What's Going On In Your Unreal World?
« on: June 18, 2018, 06:42:50 PM »
Was going home from nearby village. Just bought 2 big bulls.  8)

Taking a nap in the middle of the trip. Wake up to strange sound. Saw a pack of wolf trying to eat my big bulls.
Went into berserk mode. Bring out the masterwork longbow and superior broadhead arrow.
Keep shooting at all wolf. Kill the entire wolf pack. Even enough to get the message "The forest seem hostile."
In the end, 1 big bull and 8 wolf was KIA.

I doubt there was much slavery in iron age Finland, as slavery implies a social structure both where some people are wealthy enough to have slaves, and there being labor to apply those slaves to.

Vikings crossed the thrall sea to Finland and the Baltic countries to catch thralls and secondary wives, but being the victims in not the same.

Regardless, the question was about marriage, not slavery, although I guess this can be considered an "other important features first" post for a feature that I doubt will be included.

Thanks for your input. I do agree that full scale slavery does not seem to be practice in Iron age Finland.

As for capturing female for spouse, I do have succesfully lock up the last of Nperz Maiden. If she died, the entire Nperz cultural would be elimanated from the map.  :'(

Prefer slavery better than marriage feature. At least I can sell the slave if he/she does not perform well.  :P

This is awesome! How'd you do it? Feel like sharing?

For the bear part, he spawn just spawn beside my newly built cabin tiles.

Just simply throw  stone/rock to the bear to get him to follow you into the house.
Club him until unconscious while he in the house.
Deconstruct the door.
Kick his skull again.
Start to build the wall with windows.
Stop building every 30 minutes to 1 hour to kick/punch the bear skull to make sure he dont wake up.
Voila, you now have a bear in the house.

But sadly, the bear will be despawn/dissppear after some times when his timer expired.
Strangely, the bird never get despawn, maybe its located in the village instead of the wilderness settlement.

I even got lucky enough to capture a Npez Maiden in her village. She seem to be ok. Never get despawn.

Not bugs / Re: [not a bug] 3.50 Aggressive Livestock
« on: June 17, 2018, 11:33:39 AM »
Well, I have a very bad experience with this.

Once I clear the entire Njerpez village without even a scratch, jump into the fench to leash the biggest bull.
Turn out to be !@#$ nightmare as the big bull turn aggro and start to attack.
Dodge failed. Right hand 100% crush. Injury level max.
Panic and try to climb the fence. Bad mistake. Big bad bull attack again.
One of the feet 100% crush. Can only crawl.
Quickly unleash and give the big bull a kick to the head. Bulleyes, the big bull calm down.

Crawl out of the fence to tend the injury. Took nearly a month to heal completely both injury. So was on my belly for 2 to 3 weeks. Damn sad.

Instead of leash the animal ASAP after killing everyone, better to leave the village for one night before trying again.
