Thanks for the insight. Then, this suggestion expands not only to the straw but also to hay to be more accurate with the crop usage.

Suggestions / Straw
« on: January 28, 2021, 12:42:18 PM »
I must recognize that I know very little about the uses of straw in Finland besides the classical straw and mud house building in the world. At least in my homeland (south america)  there are many uses for this material. Considering this, it could be a nice addition to get the straw from the barley/rye crop and use it to fabricate little jewelry, like the birch-bark necklace or to make other utility articles like a straw raincoat or a straw hat. In the future it could also be used as a staple food for livestock (when feeding livestock comes out). Finally, straw can be used as a source of fire like any other flammable material.

For roleplay reasons it is good to know that the bloomery is for smelting the ore to get the iron and in the forge you heat the iron to start hammering it.

You can get more info about some BAC functionalities if you download the Extended Encyclopedia  8)

Those tweaks would be awesome if implemented, will help a lot. Maybe some day I can finally create Araucarias (Araucaria araucana) and Boldos (Peumus boldus)  for a sudamerican indigenous mod  ;D

Here's a christmas update (v1.3). Working bit by bit, there's still a lot of things to catalog.

General Discussion / Re: Introduction & Question on Playstyle
« on: December 24, 2020, 12:40:15 PM »
Hi and welcome!  :D

It is always good to see new roleplayers.  In my experience I don't restrict myself the use of the zoomed-out map since I think it is, at some extent, a nice representation of reality. When I go to the hills of mi city I can see the big metropolis under me and make some crude assumptions of how to get to places, maybe that's the reason why you can 'figure out' places in UrW when you are in the zoomed-out map  :P. Moreover, when you are in thick forest you really can't see much ahead of you -in real life and in UrW life.

Anyways, I tend to enjoy roleplay trying to emulate traditional life-style in-game: respect nature and live off what the land provides while reading historical stuff about it. Also, learning to mod is a nice way to 'play' the game while testing ideas for more immersive stuff.

General Discussion / Re: Crowdfunding : your thoughts?
« on: December 23, 2020, 05:32:43 PM »
Hey, Erkka  :D I just had this random thought considering a personal situation: My national bank account doesn't allow me to make international payments (like pay-pal), but with some exceptions (I can do transactions in Steam). So, maybe an idea for Enormous Elk crowfounding can be releasing some art dlc in the UrW steam page; like some games that releases artbooks and stuff. Well, it's just a crazy idea considering my own national-bank limitations  :P, but considering that Enormous Elk do some UrW artistic videos and related stuff it can be an option to support more donations.

doh on misspelling

I only changed writing in the text file (transport) with no recipe changes so i didnt make a big deal of it.

there is also Bouidda's bast based recipes under tying equipment. Boudida's mod has the full description on how that all works.

I'm on it ;D

Gameplay questions / Re: Mushroom question
« on: December 18, 2020, 01:02:32 PM »
My comment was actually aimed at Ezezaguna, as I don't think there's anything of interest to actually enter in an encyclopedium.

Yeah, I was just role playing. There can't be anything outside the radar of the Great Encyclopedia and the Master Code  ;D

I would recommend drinking Heather and Burdock beverages in home (more than once, maybe?). Resting, taking a sauna, asking for help to any shaman and begging for mercy to the spirits.  In my experience that save me from something poisonous (can't remember what mushroom). But, anyways, at the end our lives are meaningless  :P
