Suggestions / Wilderness map: visible fires during night
« on: April 08, 2020, 10:03:37 PM »
So, in daylight we sometimes see animals and humans in the distance, then, why not more so seeing the glow of fires in the evening/night?

Just came to think about this as I left the zoomed in view, where I had a fire lit, and came out to a dark wilderness map.

I'd like something even simpler (in real world terms) for stable/indoors animals: hooks on the walls (or poles on the floor) to which you can tile the ropes holding animals.

The problem with using doors of various kinds is that animals tend to tail gate you when you leave. I build my "stables" around trees to provide something to the the animals to (leaving holes in the roof, of course, but that has no game play effects beyond seeing snow "indoors").

I tie my bulls to the fence, that works too.

As for fences indoor, I’d rather see plank cattle pen/corral added. Or “separation wall”, buildable indoors only.

Ya, I agree. My suggestion could be an easy fix in the meantime.

Can we allow for ceiling and floor constructions on "inward" or "inverted" corners? As seen in the picture, the corner by my character shows snowy ground and a floor cannot be built. It will also rain/snow inside.

Also, I made my own stables with a fence to bind my oxen at, however, the fence destroyed the floor. Would be very nice if the floor would remain. :)

P.S. I looked into modding it myself but I believe it's something hardcoded? I found no parameters pertaining to requirements for corner or ceiling/floor tiles in the biy-file. D.S-

Suggestions / Physician skill healing party members
« on: November 02, 2019, 01:40:00 PM »
Hi!

So I'm currently doing some winter protecting from raiding njerps with a few party members. I was thinking, instead of letting party members heal automatically maybe u would need the physician skill? Then ppl would need to choose if they want to make themselves a beefy character or if they boost their physician skill and aim to get help from others, perhaps?

Off-topic / Re: Drawings of my travels in UnReal.
« on: August 28, 2018, 06:18:44 PM »
HI,

I didn't know where or how to post this, so it's going here.

Last Inktober 2016 I did a series of drawings, and from the 16th October to the 23rd they are inspired by UnReal World and a few characters I was playing with then.

Please feel free to comment and discuss.

Thanks,

Wow! Your pics really catch the deep and thoughtful side of URW!

General Discussion / Re: "The Challenge"
« on: August 27, 2018, 02:00:46 PM »
I like this challenge but some things become really tedious, picking berries and walking through spruce forests, for example. Would it be within the limits of the challenge to fast travel via the wilderness map if closing your eyes?

Do you think we might see something in the story section from you, Jakob?
Mayhaps! ;)

Your description is somewhat patchy (much exposition, little info). However, I suspect you're planting in early spring and saw plants spring up around your feet immediately, but those plants weren't visible later. If that's the case it's somewhere in the borderlands between bug and feature: You've planted late enough to plant, but not late enough for the plants to actually sprout (which can happen a week or two later depending on the plant). Those plants will sprout "for real" when they're due, so you haven't actually lost anything in that case.
It can also be noted that some plants have exactly the same hue as some types of ground during some growth phases, making them effectively invisible during that time, but that's probably a different issue.

And no, it can't be bugs, because they haven't been introduced yet. They'll probably appear together with other calamities such as droughts and rats ;)

Thanks for your answer! Correct, I'm a few days in the earliest spring! So there's a bug in that small plants show up immediately then, something that should not show until some week later?

Gameplay questions / Sown plants disappearing after save
« on: August 24, 2018, 06:49:23 PM »
Hey! I'm a weatherbeaten hunter used to chasing big game with my javelins in the deep woods. After my many adventures I finally decided to settle down and give farming a try. Having happily prepared my log cabin and fenced areas for fields during the winter, I've suddenly found myself deprived of the great joy of my very first crops - they're just disappearing (after simply saving and starting the game again)! Please tell this old hunter he missed something, or hath I fallen prey to this thing that village sages call "a bug"?

Note: my settlement is located on a heathland river bed
