Mod Releases / Re: Could some one please post a link to Rain's cookbook mod?
« on: September 03, 2019, 10:19:47 AM »
Uhhh, can't help you there.

Look for either my Mod (Lurcolm's Craft Collection), or the Brygun and Community (BAC) mods.

I think we both have it in.... somewhere

Mod Releases / Lurcolm's Craft Collection (IT LIVES AGAIN)
« on: September 03, 2019, 10:14:04 AM »
Hey guys! So I find myself enjoying the game a lot nowadays, and I remembered my mods I tried to implement to improve the quality of life.

Long story short, I started working on it again.

The Old Link won't work anymore.... I may or may not have ragequitted the entire thing, BUT, I made a new one so it's fine

Here's the link:

Suggestions / Fish Skins.
« on: September 03, 2019, 09:35:22 AM »
It doesn't have to be great quality, and I don't think you should tan fish skins with their own fat like you can with animals. But, seriously. It'd help a bunch if you go with an islander run, and it's totally real! That's the fun part!

General Discussion / Guess I'm back in this rabbit hole

Hey guys! Just figured I'd announce my interest in this game is back, and I'm still loving this game. Just need to rework the mods I did, which will be updated soonish.

Off-topic / Finnish people! Hear me!
« on: December 05, 2018, 05:10:31 PM »
Alright, so honestly I didn't know where to go about asking this, but considering this game is a massive inspiration, I decided to ask here.

I wrote a novel for NaNoWriMo. If you don't know what that is, it's basically an international event where people have to write 50k words from the first to the thirtieth of November. It's a writer's equivalent of hell.

Now, my book went about the main character and a few companions that live in Not-England. They were levied to fight against the Not-Mongols that was invading Not-Europe. Long story short, that entire battle's a bugger up for the main character's forces, and they run.

Through vague magic Spirit of the Forest handwaviness, they end up in late iron age Finland, because thanks to this game it's the one society and region I can write with.... Decent faith

Thing is, my guys don't speak Finnish. Until far later. And you can just be vague about their words, but to give an impact, it's nice to have dialogue, even if the protagonist can't understand it.

SO. I'm putting myself out there for anyone who's a native Finnish speaker, just to contact me if they're willing to help me create dialogue for this.

My Discord tag (Preferred way to communicate) is Lurcolm#8399

My Email is MurlocChieftain@gmail.com

Soooo yeah.

Anyone wanna help me? Pretty please?

General Discussion / So I exterminated my first settlement
« on: July 03, 2018, 05:29:58 PM »
Ineresting story. I was playing a Koivula and I was conflicted with what start. I want to do the agriculture route for at least a year or so, but I always ended up without an axe, and that shit's apparently rare as all fuck

SO I ecided to go with the good ol' Not All Who Wander Are Lost. I got an axe and a knife and I was golden. I made a Koivula because I want someone proficient in flail combat. THen I started running around villages looking for seeds, but low and fucking behold there isn't a fucking nettle seed in any of the villages.

By chance, I found a settlement while looking for more towns to see if they had crops, with great fields of crops already planted....

The wheels in my head started to turn.

So it came to be that I entered that village, full of men, women, children and the elderly, and I was the only one to walk out. On a windy day, I can still smell their flesh being burned by their funeral pyre

Modding / Another code chunk isn't working

I know it's something obvious, I *know* it, but for fuck's sake I can't find it

Code: [Select]
.Crossbow. "Crossbow" [Effort:2] [phys:arms,hands] *CARPENTRY* %-10% /400/ \1d\ |2|
{Split trunk} [remove] 'Split birch trunk'
{board} (2) [remove] '+For body'
{staff} [remove] '+for mechanisms and struts'
{*glue} [remove] 'Glue for attaching pieces'
{rope} [remove] '+For securing body'
{Axe}<Carving axe>
{Knife}<Small knife>
{Fire} '+for treating the belly'
{Bowstring} [remove]

Modding / Re: Where's the Sling?

I have no idea if iron age Finns used slings or not, but it would seem a reasonable addition, I look forward to your mod.

As do I!

I'm finally adding things!

Added a few weapons: The maul, the small flail and the crossbow. I changed the leather requirements of the flail and I fucked around with the stats of bows to balance the Three Big Bows: Longbow, Hunting Bow and Northern bow.

I even have a changelog now :3

It's easy mate, and it's worth to understand it. In Italy we say "you did 30, now do 31". I have no clue why we say that, but I digress.. :P

You already have a file, a ZIP archive. You added it to Github. How did you do it? The same process can be used to add the non-compressed directory to github (or directly its contents). The end result would look like.. any other Github repository, eg urw-sufficiency.

The big advantage is that people can see your files without downloading, can report issues, even fix them via a pull request. It's a very powerful system.

The problem I I had was that the truetiles didn't load properly, but I jimmied that one out while I"m talking to you. Thanks for the little pep talk :3
