Bug reports / Re: Villagers being passive towards predators
« on: April 24, 2023, 05:48:47 PM »
Oh, I should've searched first. And no save game – I didn't suspect this being an actual bug. I will save if this happens again.

This happened when I saw a wolfpack nearby a village, just few tiles away. I lured them passively towards the village in zoomed in map in hopes that the villagers would help me take down some. They were however totally passively towards the wolves. I did some testing aggravating the wolves with arrows and when they turned hostile, villagers remained passive. The wolves didn't attack them. I actually went hiding to a house and a villager opened the door for the wolf to come in  :D

When they calmed down I left. A day or two later I came back to the scene in the image above.

Bug reports / Villagers being passive towards predators
« on: April 17, 2023, 05:26:26 PM »
Not sure if this should to go to suggestions or here, but I had an incident where wolf pack entered nearby village and hang around there for few days killing all the sheep and chilling, while villagers did nothing. It's a bit silly situation when the villagers don't turn hostile against predators in the camp :D If I recall right they do attack Njerpez, right?

Suggestions / Re: Fixing fishing nets

But then wouldn't nets need to potentially fail more catastrophically? Not just wear, but tear, snag, tangle. Requiring potentially many hours of repairs.

I think that'd be a good idea. I really don't know enough of the inner mechanics of the game to know how best to go about this, but I wouldn't mind having larger penalties on net condition or having it being tangled due to lack of fishing skills, and being forced to mend and fix them.

With yarn being in the game I think it would make sense for the player to be able to fix worn fishing nets, as maintaining and mending one's nets would be a commonplace activity for a fisherman of the period. Yay or nay?

I haven't managed to reproduce, but the phenomenon surely exists.
This is likely related to the activity at the map area, so it would help if somebody could send me the savegame right after noticing the issue.
1. issue noticed -> 2. save the game -> 3. send the savegame over to me for investigation.

Just happened to me for the first time. I sent you the savegame. Cheers!

Suggestions / Regional crafting recipes

It'd be neat if the player didn't know how to craft everything to begin with. What one knew could be linked to one's culture: a kaumolais character would know how to make more traps, maybe a coastal character would know how to make a fishing net etc. To obtain new skills would require one to travel to different cultures and maybe complete tasks or quests for villagers. Also maybe women could teach cooking recepies and how to fix clothes.

I think this is something new, same just happened to me :D They also shot rocks and stones. And it seems like they pull them from thin air as the robber wasn't carrying any stones or rocks but he keeps shooting them every turn.

Bug reports / [3.72] Burning standing trees
« on: December 22, 2022, 02:29:21 PM »
Pushing branches to a tile with a standing tree and setting them on fire seems to just burn the branches for the couple of minutes, but the tree disappears with the branches at the end of it, leaving just the embers. I wonder how this could be improved, as it's not really feasible to set a big standing tree on fire with just few twigs. Should the tree remain standing without damage or should there not be an option to set fire on a tile with a standing tree?

Bug reports / [3.72] Falling through ice with punt / raft
« on: December 22, 2022, 01:06:42 PM »
If a raft is sitting in water and thin ice forms around and underneath it, stepping on it results in falling through the ice and getting wet. Same thing if a punt is pushed on thin ice and one tries to step in. That is, falling through ice on top of raft/punt equals to falling through without one, which seems like a bug.

Hot damn! I'm running the steam version, I've missed this one entirely. Thanks!

Suggestions / Ask villagers about well / spring
« on: December 16, 2022, 04:32:02 PM »
I reckon it'd be useful to be able to ask villagers in which direction their well / spring is. It can be tricky to locate at times. Also the presumption is that they use the spring in winter times as well, so maybe the tile ought to stay clear of ice and snow even in the winter?

Suggestions / Filling skins from containers
« on: February 02, 2022, 08:15:18 AM »
I'm not sure if this has been suggested before, but it'd be nice to be able to fill a water skin from a container without picking up the container first, just like when filling from a lake. You probably wouldn't pick up a large wooden tub to fill a skin irl but rather dunk the skin in.

Bug reports / [3.62] Sleeping birds walking around
« on: November 10, 2020, 08:50:00 AM »
Apparently there used to be issue with sleeping birds flying around, but that got fixed. However, I keep countering a black grouse in my home tile that's sleepwalking :D

Bug reports / [3.62] Villager burning my fence!
« on: November 08, 2020, 05:09:30 PM »
I'm playing the lonely settler scenario where my cottages happened to be right next to a village. There have been some funny stuff going around (such as https://www.unrealworld.fi/forums/index.php?topic=5803.0) but this one takes the cake: I came back to my cottage and a villager had made a fire on my fence gate  ;D ;D Luckily only the gate burned down. And I thought we were getting along just fine...

The fence is still on my map tile btw.

Suggestions / Small scale primitive smoker
« on: November 06, 2020, 12:33:18 PM »
I think a primitive small scale tipi type smoker would make a great addition to the game. Smoking doesn't really demand a huge building unless one smokes huge amounts of stuff. So maybe a small structure from three slender tree trunks, a large hide, some tying equipment and branches where one could smoke smaller quantities of meats?
