Made arrows a plenty. Don't need more... lol

Forgot about shift D, though. Had some grasses I pulled up that wouldn't burn. Need to use it on those.

Here are my cooking edits/additions.  Tend to use berry drying a lot & herbal medicine when my guy is hurt.  Even have some recipes which use already cooked meat (roasted or smoked).  You can copy one and change it to dried also, easily.

General Discussion / Re: THE BIRDS....
« on: December 20, 2017, 07:25:02 PM »
Many different types.

Black grouse
Hazel grouse
Willow grouse (a lot of these)
Ducks.
May have been others (not at home right now).

No Ravens.
-----------
Was able to find cloud berries later, since by then the birds had all been (viciously) killed by an angry kaumo. lol...

But cannot confirm if any other berries are available elsewhere in the world. I despaired of finding any at the time...

Its was just... UNREAL!   :P

Gameplay questions / Re: Trapping,am i doing it right?
« on: December 18, 2017, 05:15:39 PM »
I build a fence round my homestead, with occasional covered pits.  Rarely catches anything unless I am away for a long time.

I place snares and fox traps in a line near my house... and catch stuff all the time... WHILE I am home but not when I am gone.

Bait does not seem to make a difference.  It should, though.

Over time they gain more items to trade.

General Discussion / THE BIRDS....
« on: December 18, 2017, 05:06:27 PM »
I am using the current beta and experienced something I never have before.

Started a new game.  Kaumo character in the kaumo area.

Found a lake just north of a cluster of villages that was very good for fishing.  Also some berry bushes in the area.  So I set up camp and started building.

As things progressed, a few birds flew around so I placed three loop snares.

And it began... birds.  MORE birds. and MORE BIRDS.

So many that I finally stopped skinning them and just burned the bodies.

This happened through the spring and summer.  It finally eased off as winter came back.

But... they... ate... everything... all the bushes... most of my crops...

It was horrible... I was having nightmares...

lol  :P

Off-topic / Leather Working
« on: July 26, 2017, 06:06:31 PM »
Started doing some leather work.  Lots of experiments at first.  Been meaning to throw this picture up and say something.

Since I have a bow and arrows, the puny excuse for a quiver that came with the arrows led me to make one myself.  It was my first attempt at making leather lace (the strings) for sewing and the long scrap leather piece I had rolled up nicely to make a cylinder.  Its irregular shape was not an issue at all.

All in all it was quite interesting and didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would.  Even cutting the lace was pretty easy.  I took a small board and cut a narrow slit about an inch deep into it.  I took a razor blade and bolted it down, cutting edge against the narrow slit.  Then just pulled the edge of the leather through to make nice, consistent leather lace/strings.  I can see this being a similar thing with simpler tools even... say nailing an sharp edge to a board kind of thing.

Of course an awl (in my case a leather hole punch) can be used to make holes.

Just thought it would be interesting to pass on to you Unreal World players.

Ignore the revolver holster.  It works, but I just threw that one together to test some things. My other holsters look much better. lol

Suggestions / Re: Focus on Endgame Content
« on: July 26, 2017, 05:53:11 PM »
Just some ideas.

Lost dog quest.  Requires tracking.  Reward... gratitude of a child in a village who lost it.

Village needs to contact someone in another village far away...

Village needs some specific resource supplied.

Conman - have a guy pretend to be a trader or a member of a village, offering a trade or something.  But he is really a conman, tricking you.  Little hints can be found by asking people of the village about him or some such.  His goal can vary - trick you out of supplies, locate your camp and steal, etc.

Gameplay questions / Re: Where to find fishing gear?
« on: July 17, 2017, 05:12:25 PM »
The F5 mission option is how I get mine.  Actually, that makes it too easy.  : P

I modded some to make a fishing rod craft-able, but you still have to collect the parts and make it.  That's how it SHOULD be.  : P

Not bugs / Re: [not a bug] Milking with a Full Container
« on: July 05, 2017, 04:13:07 PM »
Its kinda hinky but the only way around it is to always use an empty contain of sufficient size for milking, THEN pour off into other containers if you want to rearrange your storage.
