Re: Snow slows movement indoors
My guess is that this is a known behavior that is regarded as too minor to fix (which I would understand), but just noting that. Snow slows your movement speed while inside your buildings, and skiing speeds it up as well.

This is now fixed (automatically) along with fixing the discovered faulty snow penalty as reported here:

This indoors-snow-penalty was also a result of the same remnant code which assumed there is snow based on the dates rather than the actual data.

Fixed - persists in 3.63.

Re: Decorations Mod!

A while ago I found the bench tile in someone's pre-v3.3 graphics pack on the old forum. I thought it was an excellent candidate for modular furniture, so I used it to replace some of the woodworking pieces in BAC but I'm posting them here without the mod's prefixes. (The bench can also represent a single shelf over a fireplace.)

Re: What's Going On In Your Unreal World? Have not hit any limit warnings or problems yet. Anticipating the problem, though, I dug a cellar on a one-square island in some rapids and moved a great deal of my most valuable tools, weapons, and furs there.

 Likewise, At a day's distance is my first settlement with a split of my possessions, the rest being at a large, fenced-in fishing camp on an island that is approachable through rapids at 5 different points when winter freezes over.

ModernNorseman's Portrait Mod 2.0 (Updated November '23, 1000 unique portraits) I'm glad to be able to release version 2.0 of my portrait mod. The old version contained 327 unique portraits, this new version contains 1000 unique portraits.

As previously mentioned, unpack the file with for example winrar, and copy all the imagefiles to the "truegfx" folder in your UnrealWorld folder. It's about 150 mb, as it's actually 2000 images because portraits of men is used in three categories - east, north and west, and the images of the categories, old men and sages, are the same. Due to the size, I have used mediafire to distribute this time.

I always saw Unreal World as one of the most immersive games I have ever played, and thanks to a tip from forum user MilitanttiTalitintti (Many thanks!) I started to create AI generated portraits that I deemed immersive to the game, through the website With Sami upgrading the amount of available portraits ingame, it is my goal to keep this project going until all slots have been fully filled, so there will be alot of variety when meeting characters in the unreal world.

Adding these portraits is very easy - download the .rar file, unpack and copy all the images to the folder "truegfx" in your Unreal World folder, and overwrite existing files.

As for the version 1.0 there is currently 327 unique portraits. The pack of images of males are the same for all three categories (west, north, east) but renaming then can easily divide them up if you want. The amount of portraits per category are as follows:

Male: 130 portraits
Female: 60 portraits
Girl: 41 portraits
Boy: 44 portraits
Old male: 34
Sage: 18

I hope the portraits can be of joy for fellow Unreal World gamers, and I will continue the update the mod in the future to add many more portraits.

Version 3.72 (beta) now available for Windows, Linux and OS X Version 3.72 beta is now available for all the supported operating systems now - Windows, Linux and OS X.
OS X build was the last in line and considering the stability of earlier released Windows and Linux betas there's no need to hesitate of getting into 3.72beta.
Version 3.72 (beta) is available at Steam, Itch.Io and for lifetimers.

With no showstoppers having been noticed we're adding up a few more features and then wrap things up for a stable release -
which is destined to be released still this year.

Re: Clothing Quality Limit?  I recall this being a thing but a fast search of news turned up nothing. That high quality items are only available via trade. Could be wrong..

Re: Creation of Mass From Nothing Yeah. There's always been mismatch with plant yield versus plant weight.
It's due to fixed default plant weights which is indeed confusing.
Well, it's also definitely something to adjust - when the priorities are suited for that.
