Re: Item Qualities on Transport Items I think it only matter for trade values.  I still like to make them at least decent quality when I can though, for RP and OCD purposes!

Re: Item Qualities on Transport Items I usually have inferior skis and my skill improves fast. I guess using bad skis makes you a better skier  ;)

Re: WEATHELORE CAN INCREASE! Yes, it can. I've had several characters who'd reached 100% (they lived a fair number of years). My standard routine is to use Weatherlore every time my character eats (and Herb Lore as well, until reaching 100%), apart from the very early game where I'm spending all available time trying to get food in one way or another.

You can also improve dodge by dodging a lot (but reaching 100% is a lot of work using cheesy techniques.

Re: WEATHELORE CAN INCREASE! I still cannot see why weatherlore is a skill, fire lighting skill would at least be useful.

Re: Item Qualities on Transport Items Find some open or pine mire and ski back and forth on the zoomed in map.  This quickly raises skill by 3% per day.

It doesn't hurt to hide while you do it, to train up stealth too.  Stealth seems to raise faster if there is something to hide from, a trapped bird is handy here.

Re: Has persistence hunting been made more difficult? You can still wear down animals with more speed and stamina than the PC provided you can pin them against an obstacle and get them to run back and forth along it, such as e.g. along a river (as few UrW animals swim voluntarily, unlike real world ones). However, you can easily find that a single slip up may result in them escaping to either side and leave you in the dust.

Re: Stuck on a rock...
I entered my home area, and it auto zoomed in as it does, and I appeared on a single tile raised location that is too steep to climb off of. This has never happened before. And I cannot found a way to get off...I am too close to water to zoom back out...is my save just wasted then?

Climibing, as suggested by PALU, might be the first thing to try.
But if that, and everything fails, just send me the savegame (.zipped up etc.) and I'll help you out.
You can e-mail the save at: sami [at] unrealworld.fi

Re: Quality Questions Finding any level item is technically possible. But don’t expect foreign traders hauling below decent weapons or armor with them.
Pro-tip: if you see masterwork leather garments for sale,  traders or villages, consider getting them.

You can craft certain weapons to fine, even superior. Clothing by character is capped at decent. Lower level resources limit the max level of output.
Superior fur will make at most decent clothing.
Fine staff can by used to make fine javelin.
Arrows pre-3.80 Stable could be made to superior, above the quality level of yarn used. I haven’t tested arrow making with high enough Carpentry yet to see where the levels are with arrow shaft blanks and arrow head levels.

Re: Quality Questions I think Sami mentioned sometime ago that textilecraft is not his perception of tailoring. Compare to Timbercraft and Carpentry when dealing with sourcing and refining wood. At the moment the game uses Common skill (that doesn't improve) to make clothing (and some other tasks)

Here's the topic

Now that I looked up the post, it was about hideworking. Not wood working.
