The beauty of winter in your land. Sharing photos For the last few days, I truly crave for taking a long long walk to some area untouched by man, where only silence, wind, and snow crunching beneath the feet is possible to hear, and for setting a campfire and sitting by it, with no thoughts, just watching the world exist...

But there's still zero snow in my part of the country, and so no least desire to go outside. At least I can enjoy photos my friends take, and hope you'll like them too. These are from outskirts of Moscow.

Spoiler: show

And how does winter of yours look, adventurers?

Re: Easier to find masterwork small and broad knives Agreed. Never found a masterwork broad knife, and only once or maybe twice found a small one.

Re: Horrendous Visual Bug It looks like something that should happen when a character gets his eyes injured badly, which results in dramatical decreasing of vision range. And as soon as the wounds heal a bit, vision becomes clear. Has your character been hurt recently?

Best music to listen while playing UrW The other day I came across the latest Burzum album ThulĂȘan Mysteries. Not only is it a staggering mix of ambient, pagan folk and post-black (not sure though, I'm not quite good at identifying genres), but also it fits playing, and intensifies immersion, and makes UrW feel a little differently. Solemner, more frightening, more enigmatic.

What music do you listen to while wandering the unreal land? And does it change the usual feeling of the game?

Re: Best music to listen while playing UrW
Burzum makes really good ambient music as well, if you liked the newer albums I can definitely suggest Alcest,it is not really a pagan-folk group, but it is a popular group you might have heard of it. Amesoeurs makes a little softer music but I think they are great as well.Les Discrets are similar to Amesoeurs as well. That was a lot of French bands for someone who is not from France. ;D

Got the first two in my record library. Gonna check out Les Discrets, never heard of them, thanks. I also like Gris, they're French too. I do enjoy French black metal bands generally, they've got pretty unique sounding.

Woods of Ypres really has some bangers as well "I Was Buried In Mount Pleasant Cemetery" and "Traveling Alone" are my favourites.
Another entry goes into my list of music to listen!

One Finnish group that I'm listening is called Tenhi, I don't really understand the lyrics but they are really nice songs slow, soft. My favourite is "Pojan Kiiski" I think the song is about a boy and his fish but I dunno, it is cool though.
Whoaa, Tenhi. Absolutely love their first album Kauan! Also, there's Russian band named Kauan after this very album. Their music's pretty close to Tenhi's, yet not too similar.

In order for me to listen any music, it needs a distorted or overdriven guitar and that's pretty much all it needs. :P
Literally me, hehe.

By the way, I've got a Telegram channel where I write about black metal and stuff. If you want, I can PM you a link. It's in Russian, but in order to listen to music you'll only need to click links :D .

Re: Skervaldr, the Remi hunting trial
I hope you enjoyed my little story and it inspire your next ones . ::)

Please tell me if you want how can I improve my gameplay and storytelling, since I am noob yet hehe or demand more stories if you want and I'll to do few more may be with drawings too or other images than the screenshots if you like it.
Good story! And it's always joy to see new storytellers and tales here. Especially with drawings! Write more, if you're really into it, no reason to quit.

As for gameplay, I would suggest you using traps. Even if your next chatacter's trapping skill won't be as great as Skervaldr's had been, there's always chance to catch something.

As for writing, you can start with re-reading the text before posting, and fixing misspelled words :) . I've noticed some. You can also use DeepL to make translating your thoughts into English easier (however, it supports a pretty limited amount of languages at the moment).

As an example of well-written stories (or at least ones I do like a lot) you can check out Jutta's Tale: The Bog Mother, Jutta's Tales: The Story Teller, Bloodied Snow. Or maybe read mine, hehe.

Re: Skervaldr, the Remi hunting trial @Skervaldr, DeepL is neural network based, so it can fail sometimes too. I've used to write the story first in Russian, and then translate it with DeepL a couple sentences at a time, and also check doubtful pieces using dictionaries (yep, that's a pretty hard way, it's just me obsessed with trying to write closest to perfect, hehe).

If you're new to UrW, it may be wise to complete the both training game courses without mods, just to get to know the game and discover all gameplay mechanics. Because before you develop a working survival tactics, you're probably going to lost a good dozen characters... Just suggesting, as completing those cources taught me to avoid really stupid ways to die and to last far much longer.

I noticed you to post them in a diary format, posting new entries for different days in the same thread ::)
Yeah, I like it that way. However, there's no default format for stories, so nothing forces you to follow my or someone's else way.

Btw, when are you planning to stream UrW? would be about Fjara of the Owl tribe?
Can't say for sure, got a lot of stuff to care about. Definitely starting before this month ends, that's all I can promise. BTW, if you want to watch someone playing UrW, check out this, this and this YouTube channel.

Re: Please make it possible to quickly shorten tying equipment @Buoidda thanks a lot, that's an amazing code! Saved it. My first DIY mod btw, hehe.

Only replaced short with 1ft to avoid the text break interface border (running UrW in 800x600 borderless window).

Spoiler: show

Leather cords weight to be adjusted Just noticed funny thing: when making leather cords of worn-out clothes, overall weight of character's stuff increases. One cord takes 0.23 kilos of leather, but its weight is 0.45 kilos, which is pretty much unrealistic.

I suppose a cord should require 0.45 kilos of leather, or its weight should be reduced to 0.23.
