Re: Going nuts! Crab apple (malus sylvestris) is native to the southern coast of Finland, it would make a nice addition to the turnip heavy diet  :D

Re: Does killing dogs have consequences? Think of it this way:

You’re farming some turnips, grains, hemp. For years you and your family does this.

Then one year, there’s a newcomer who pitches his tent where your cows graze. Half your turnips go missing.
You’ve not seen any other strangers.

Where do you think your produce went?

Personally I think the villagers are too kind. I’d be looking for an empty sack and some rope. And couple stones.

Re: Taken items on a raft. Guilt of theft must weigh heavily.

Often a punt get over loaded, when dropping items from inventory in it. The punt won’t move until the character picks up some of the goods. It’s a strange algorithm...

Raft, you need to add a lot of goods to overload, as the carrying capacity is calculated from the watercraft’s own weight.

Re: Hardest things to find... Masterwork or even Fine skramasaksi are rare. Even finding decent ones are far and out on most of my world gens.

I don‘t recall seeing Fine ango, but the decent ones usually are available in the archipelago.

Re: Hardest things to find... Scramasax / skramasaksi is actually a “väkipuukko” whilst originally imported, many were made in North too.
Kansallismuseo (National Museum, in Finland) has some samples, and there are some pretty obvious features and style passed to traditional Kauhavalaispuukko from some of the exhibits. (Guess that’s why Sami has the scramasax as Sartolais cultural item, west coast same as Kauhava)

Re: Wool mittens don't spawn in shops They do spawn, but horribly rare. Socks and foot rags seem also to be unrealistically uncommon.
I wouldn’t mind to see higher spawn rates for clothing, but I think it’d be appropriate to have more ‘rough’ quality items throughout the full inventory of items.
It’d give more “backwoods feel” and correspondingly, make any fine or gosh, masterwork a heirloom to cherish.

Re: What's Going On In Your Unreal World?
Not much at the moment.  I'm training my carpentry skills by making paddles from boards so that I can eventually start making my own arrows.  Mostly to not waste the feathers I get.  I may not have to make my own arrows though, if these robbers keep showing up to give me hand-axes instead.

If you set 4-5 sites with 3-4 Light lever traps each (can always also add paw board (fat or cut)and loop snare (turnip)at each site) baited with berries; you should have hundreds if not thousands of feathers every year.

Carpentry is sooo slow to improve, I boost it on character creation, just to avoid the tedious skill grind. 60s gives Fine with good success, 70s can give superior arrows even with decent cord and Fine knife.

Re: Can you torture people in this game? No, tying people is not implemented.

But if you want to be sadistic, shoot at the enemies legs until they can’t stand. Then shoot them some more.

Some devious types might burn down villages utilizing fire spread mechanics from outside the village borders.

Just remember: “Pillage, then burn”
