Title: Egg nutrition?
Post by: Buoidda on December 22, 2020, 08:48:04 AM
I ate 10 black grouse eggs and nutrition level didn't rise from scarce. Even berries give more nutrition.

What kind of experience do you have eating eggs?

Almost useless, about on par with berries, is my experience. The advantage to eggs in-game is that it doesn't take a lot of time to pick them, so they're essentially free if you stumble upon them, but it's still another way to starve to death a bit slower (giving you some additional time to get "real" food, as well as possibly more time to heal wounds to be able to get said food).

I feel eggs are on low side of nutrition; most grouse family eggs are ok (capercaillie eggs seem too low for their size), but mallards and golden-eyes eggs should have higher nutrition as they’re larger. I’ve not come across swan eggs, they should be considerably larger and more nutritious, if they’re implemented.

Sometimes I feed the eggs to dog(s), keeps from barking hungry for a while.
