Title: Cellars?

I'm back at URW after many years absent... wow, its got so much harder to do anything!

My question is about cellers - how do they work?  Does food count as 'stored' in a celler just by dropping it on the celler tile?  I'm asking because there doesn't seem to be any special way to interact with them or 'open' them.

yes, just drop onto the cellar tile.

Any food on the cellar tile is considered inside cellar. If you’re efficient/lazy/have multiple sites (cabins/kotas/shelters) with cellars; you can during appropriate season dry meat&fish on the cellar tile with proper placement. No need to manually pickup and move to cellar.

Once you get to the cellar, you’ll want to pickup the stacks and start eating, then cancel, to get the foods’ quality identified. Repay for all stacks. Then drop back in the cellar. Or take for trading/dog food/use.

I always try to build my cellar right next to my shelter/cabin for this exact purpose. :)
