Title: Install in Zorin OS (Linux)?
Post by: TechnoWolf on May 03, 2025, 11:53:56 PM
Hello,
Nothing I've been trying with either "urw-3.86-x86_64-linux-gnu.tar.gz" or "urw-3.86-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst" seems to launch, install or otherwise run UrW. I've recently abandoned Windows for Zorin OS after using Windows since back in 3.1. Any guidance appreciated. Thanks.

Have you installed sdl2? It needs SDL 2, SDL image 2 and SLD mixer 2 libraries.

Try opening a terminal window and launching it from the terminal. Does it output any errors?

Wikipedia says Zorin is based on ubuntu, so give the deb package a try.

I can give more detailed help if needed.

Thanks very much, Plotinus. I have UrW running now, and it was indeed requiring various sdl2 libraries as you've cited.
