Title: What cultures can initially identify flax?

Couldn't find any wiki info on this, and I have a feeling it's obvious, but I'm generally confused on which cultures get to know about flax initially.

Thanks. Don't know why I didn't look in the files for the info to begin with... Now my textilecraft endeavors will be less aimless.
