Re: Inviting foreign trader to another location Trade stations and the like might help as well.
When I really find something I like I mark the tile so I can return there after having returned home to pick up trade goods, which makes it a little bit easier with the current system.

Re: The same fatigue mechanics should apply to everyone. Yes, it's annoying.

The problem is that fixing it properly would mean teaching the NPCs to use skis (including when not to), as well as to wield/unwield the ski staff. Also, hirelings without skis would not keep up with your character (congratulations: you're going to have to make skis for everyone!).
I think the current situation is better than NPCs being easy targets because they're not using skis, which would be the "easy" solution. In the long term yes, NPCs ought to learn how to ski and be subjected to the snow fatigue influence as well.

Re: Wind Yes, I love this. It would be great combined with wetness effects (again, impacting on all things you mentioned).

A winter's snowstorm shouldn't be a day to march out even covered in furs, or to stay in the wild with only a fire to warm you. Windproof and/or waterproof clothes could gain the edge against purely "warm" clothes (eg, sealskin overcoat over wool clothes during spring/autumn to protect from wetness while keeping decently warm).

Re: The same fatigue mechanics should apply to everyone. I agree, life is unfair for the player now.  I don't mind difficulty, but it must be fair.

Re: this game in unplayable and i'm triggered It's not intuitive at first, but everyone of us managed, and you will too - but you need to get in the right mindset ;)

The others have given you a lot of advice. I will only say this: learn the controls. Understand how to access all the menus.

- Have you found how to access all the recipes (even if you don't have the means to cook them yet)?
- Have you seen the traps menu, and tried to build a few?
- Have you noticed that in some menus you can craft weapons, or clothes from furs/leather?
- Can you start fires, move stuff without picking it up?
- Do you understand how the weight penalty affects your skills?

I would suggest you start a new character, pump your fishing skill and start as a fisherman. You can then survive on fish (and even barter it for clothes, or furs to make clothes) while you figure out the basics.

It WILL get much easier, eventually. So easy that we older players must gimp ourselves to make it harder. So keep at it and enjoy this weird wonderful game :)

Re: does flour spoil? I've ever seen it spoil. I've still got bags of rye flour sitting in my cellar from quest treasures a few years back (I use barley for baking, not rye).

Re: does flour spoil?
ok, thanks. now i know i can safely process my grains when it snows :)

and i'm just testing what works and what doesnt work, i planted both last summer and got both as a result. i just dont want to waste my entire grain supply if it would rot away.

I always use the long winters to grind my grains, so no worries there :) They have never become spoiled in my games yet.

Re: befriend wild animals  Am not sure if this is implemented yet, but my last char is seeing some strange stuff. Now he as a Mallard friend, cuz the Mallard seems to stay near him always. It's been around 2 months ingame since I started making my house, and this Mallard is been around since then, at the start he started fleeing as soon has he noticed me, but look at him now...
Spoiler: show

Re: barry the bull, why you should get at least 1 bull. You may be talking about bulls but you ain't talking no bull!. My current survivor Captain Kaumolainen has two big bull buddy's called Cupboard and Trucker. They're a serious storage option that doubles as a meat shield in a pinch. You can even successfully sneak with bulls for some strange reason. I may be remembering this wrong I believe a normal bull can carry a tree trunk too. I've used bulls to travel around camp and then down river with a raft gathering trunks and stones near the shore for a more ecological way of building a hut. Also doubles as a way of scouting the area and finding game. Bulls are expensive but killing a couple of Njerpez will likely bag you enough riches for a big bull.

Re: Buoidda's Crafts reworked (balancing?)
i've added roads in the building menu, that's all.

love the mod so far, even tough i've only tried out a fraction of it. even tough it was a day late it's one of the best birthday presents i've ever had :D

you'll find the adjusted file in the attachment on this comment, simply replace the file to add roads to the mod.

Sorry, ain't supporting this one anymore besides bug fixes... You should check out my very own mod, which can be found in Mod Releases, it has all functions from here and alot more. There's still some stuff to do, like cooking and such, but it already is a giant mod.
