Acquiring the resource
Stones can be found randomly scattered in the wilderness and are used in the construction of fireplaces, cellars, stone axes, and traps such as light lever traps and deadfalls. They are more commonly found along shorelines and in mountains. Fields near villages are also good places to gather stones – while they aren't especially abundant in them, the lack of trees makes the stones there very easy to spot.
Each stone weighs 14 lbs.
Gathering tips
As stones and rocks are commonly found in almost all terrain and (relatively) lightweight, you can gather them during your daily chores (hunting, foraging, fishing, etc.), then store them near your camp or home. Once the time comes to utilise them, you'll have a pile of stones readily available at your campsite or home.
A single stone weighs 14 lbs, which is fairly heavy, limiting how many stones the player can haul around before they start experiencing increasing fatigue or is immobilized by the weight of their inventory.
Uses in construction
In construction, stones are used for the following structures:
Item | Type | Needed |
---|---|---|
Cellar | Storage | 10 stones |
Fireplace in a Wooden Building |
Furniture | 35 stones |
Light lever trap | Trap | 1 stone |
Small deadfall trap | Trap | 1 stone |
Big deadfall trap | Trap | 10 stones |
Uses in crafting
In crafting, stones are used for the following tools and weapons:
Item | Type | Needed |
---|---|---|
Stone axe | Tool / Weapon | 1 stone |
Stone knife | Tool / Weapon | 1 stone |
Weapon status
Stones can be used as a stop-gap ranged weapon and are useful for getting squirrels out of trees with minimal damage done to their skins if nothing else is available. Rocks are also useful in this manner.
