Foreign traders’ merchandise?

Is it possible to mod what items Foreign Traders carry for sale?
I.e. can I have them carry salt? Can I have them carry e.g. langseax (I don’t want character to be able to smith themselves)

Nice idea. I'll experiment and let you know my results when I do. I suspect it's probably possible via memory, which would make a nice addition to my current project.
