Villagers will not except poor quality roasted meat. However once it went stale and thus bland they would except it.

Suggestions / More Tracking info
« on: August 17, 2019, 08:47:03 PM »
So as I write this I'm hunting reindeer I think to my self where is the one I crippled? And it hits me, an tracker at a certain level should be able to see if his prey is crippled by it's gait and I should also be able to determine relative size small, big, from tracks these small changes would make it easier follow specific animal in a herd.

Off-topic / Finnish bear fight
« on: July 03, 2019, 06:31:58 PM »
https://youtu.be/qmMBN8bpyzE sorry if this does not hyperlink I'm not very good with computers. Saw this video and it made me wonder. I have witnessed predator prey interactions, but what about territory disputes or fighting over mates? I would enjoy seeing two bull elk duking it out during mating season

General Discussion / The currious case of Robbers
« on: February 14, 2019, 04:53:52 AM »
I encountered robbers one winter night while traveling. I was leading several pack animals and had three dogs with me. While trying to flee I was able to spot three robbers. A fight broke out between us, before it started I dropped most of my things to lower my penalty. I managed to severely wounded one before I was surrounded and knocked out. I woke up several wilderness tiles away, without my pack animals or dogs. While back tracking to the scene of the assault I found my dogs. When I arrived I found three dead robbers, my things, and no tracks of a surviver.  So I ask/suggest who carried me away, how are my dogs not dead if I lost and was taken, and if my dogs did finish them off should I not wake up at the spot where I fell unconscious? Also if I was a robber I would take the bulls or at least make one into steak dinner.

Bug reports / Cave visibility
« on: February 01, 2019, 04:14:58 AM »
Was working with on turning a cave into a shelter had a decent area lit by natural light. I added some wooden walls and a door built one floor ceiling tile and the cave went to zero tile visibility. I deconstructed the walls door and ceiling, poor visibility persisted.

General Discussion / The Judas Deer
« on: January 29, 2019, 04:08:23 AM »
So I just stumbled and a nice strategy. I was hunting a heard of reindeer on the edge of a nice mire. I was taking one or two at a time and tanning the hides and drying meat. When I was done or near to it I would track the heard and take a few more. Well I decided to check what traps would take a deer I set a bear dead fall, works, and a big deadfall, no luck, but I did have one go right next to the big dead fall so it may have been the push factor. But anyway I trapped a deer but instead of killing it I used it to attract the rest of the herd back to it. So I basically new where they were. I could actively hunt one or two and then come back later and hunt a few more. It turned the deer's herd instinct against them.

For those who choose to complete living in the wild or advanced adventures what do you think is the most useful reward, stats skills or spells? Why do you choose what you do.

Suggestions / Permanent partner
« on: January 27, 2019, 08:30:10 PM »
I wish I could make permanent companion. I would not think that most npc would be interested in doing so. Also I don't want a servant but a partner. I imagine a give and take relationship through intermittent quests like I wish to see my family, or I want to spend the day fishing, I like that Njerp's spear can I have it? With the consequences being some like "That's fine that you do not want to return to my home I'll go alone. I hope our paths cross again someday friend"

Suggestions / Visual clues
« on: January 27, 2019, 08:17:47 PM »
I wish I could get clues about what I can see on a zoomed in map similar to sounds ie you see an elk to the north. I'm some times frustrated when I'm persistence hunting in a large open mire and I lose track of the prey when it runs off screen. My character is able to see that far on the wilderness map so he should be able to visual track prey zoomed in.

General Discussion / How to survive (maybe) wolves
« on: January 22, 2019, 06:58:04 AM »
I'll admit I take foolish chances but I've survived a couple of wolf packs now so here is my tips on how up your odds of survival. Firstly pray for lluck. Second wolves like to hit a run so you have to work with that. Wait for the wolves to come to you. Check behind you often, number1 on the number pad rotates you 180°. Attack the lead wolf usually once hurt it will run. Do Not Chase it. Instead look around and see if another wolf is rushing you. Basically you are going to bounce the wolves off of you. As one flees the others tend to re agro and come back. Keep your head on a swivel.  And use the enter to key to check if they're still near by  If you can get a solid object, trees big rocks, behind you great do it. With luck you can turn their hit and run tactics to your advantage and only have to fight one at a time. Lastly pray for luck

My Char is not much of a trapper but I was wondering if any one has had luck trapping these small animals. what I've been trying is meat and loop snares after I randomly encounter them but no luck. Any one tried light deadfalls or even paw pawboards with any luck

General Discussion / An observation on a lost adventurer
« on: January 17, 2019, 07:54:25 PM »
I recently "recolated" a Forrester village to the spirit world, so that I could use it as a home base. A funny thing happened weeks latter, I ran into an adventurer lost in the forest cover. One I think the game spawned on purpose as I had just started the learn a new spell quest. I brought him to my empty village so see what would happen. It was a success he taught me a spell. Maybe 4-7 days later I returned after some adventuring so see if he would live there. I found him hanging about 2 tiles away in a field. On a side note days later I found a Njerp in my bed. My penned dog was totally fine with it. Some guard dog she is, guess people all look alike to her

Bug reports / construction time
« on: December 29, 2018, 09:59:32 PM »
I started a shelter to see how long it would take to build with a Battle axe, at 49 minutes I decided it was too long. I paused construction picked up my hand axe and resumed building. The game said you use hand axe but it still is taking hours to build a shelter. it feels like the original build time with battle axe is locked in even though I now have proper tool. I am still using 3.51

Gameplay questions / Seasoning
« on: November 13, 2018, 08:37:23 PM »
Are some seasoning better than others? Would adding pipe to a dish make it keep me up? What about. The other herbal effects do they transfer when used as seasoning?

Suggestions / Cooking with bones
« on: November 13, 2018, 04:16:40 PM »
I'm thinking of specificly of adding bones to soups and stews, and roasted marrow. Maybe bones for roasting and beater for cracking open. I think think this. Would be a nice addition to my carnivore's diet
