I think there is a setting for that.

Let's try: From the menu bar choose 'Profile', and from the drop-down menu pick 'Forum Pofile',
then, hover the mouse over 'Modify Profile' and it opens an another drop-down menu, choose 'Look and Layout',
and there you should have a checkbox for 'Return to topics after posting by default.'

But, yeah, when I have time I'll take a look if that can be toggled on by default for new user accounts.

Yeah, that's exactly the setting I fiddled with.

Edit:
And it works this time! Woo. Success (I didn't change any settings today).

Reminds me of the time the friend of mine who introduced me to URW managed to almost survive the "start in the iron-tribe's camp as a slave."

He managed to get away from the camp without any pursuers (and then bled to death).

Uh, test post to see if the setting I changed is in fact the setting I'm looking for so I don't have to click "back" a whole bunch of times after making sequential posts in order to return to the forum index.
I was going to complain about that setting before realizing that this is SMF which has it as a per-use thing (there just aren't enough threads yet for me to have anything meaningful to say, I already posted...)

Edit:
Nope,  it didn't work. "Return to topics after posting by default." defaults to off (and not what I wanted) and turning it on changed nothing.

So I do crock pot recipes these days. Got a handful of books I pull from, but mostly it's Make it Fast, Cook it Slow and Cook's Slow Cooker Revolution (volume 2).

I made enchilada casserole...three weeks back and cowboy stew two weeks ago. Last week I did garlic and turmeric scallops.  Think I'm going to do Azorean beef stew this week
