Bear in mind that retting removes everything from the plant and just leaves the long stalk fibres. I would not consider puttinf freah nettles anywhere near my wobbly bits.

I can confirm there is a strange cyclic background sound with 3.72 beta from itch.io on linux, it is only present while runnig the game npt on the main menus screens.

Managed a quick look and half an hour test play.

The layout looks a lot tidier and more logical, I think there may be a few things missing though. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place which would not surprise me.

I miss repairing clothes but making new replacements is possible. I also miss the block pot chain, I often start with no metal tools and cooking with hot rocks in a wooden pot was always useful. Making clay pots is still an option but making radial boards with a stone axe seems to take about a week.

I also make life a little more complicated by needing glue to make arrows and several other recipes are tweaked to take longer or more inputs. I also need to add privateers chicken coop and beehives with honey and mead, but with so many menu slots free I can add my other recipes to a spare slot.

I will test further to see if I can find anything else.

I can confirm your screenshot is correct and it cannot be resized.

Best option to contact Night is on discord, though I think he has moved onto other things now, he was most helpful to me a few months ago.

I know the release docs said linux and mac would be out later but how much later? 2050 is later but I do not expect to be around then.
Currently is is over a month and I see people using it to update mods.

I had a real problem sorting this out, and still do not have a satisfactory answer.

I had a character started in 3.63 who had 400 dried retted plants of different sorts, these could not be processed further when I updated to 3.7x, I had to reenable the BAC recipes for retting and extracting fibres. I now have some strange items. together with fibre from nettles, hemp and flax I also have mixed extract fibre and fibre from tuntematon (Finnish word for unknown)

I can make nettle, hemp and flax yarn but not linen yarn, from the three types of yarn I can weave nettle and linen cloth and make clothes from them.
It would be nice to know what the textile craft internal names are as the functionality of the 3.7x retting does seem better than BAC

There is already a suggestion that is similar, if you are carrying a paddle or sesta and are trying to move a punt or raft over water then you automatically equip the tool. Perhaps equipping a weapon automatically could be part of the same suggestion?

I can think of several times when I would not want to equip something I picked up which would lead to as many keystrokes to reequip the original weapon.

Same with having to equip a paddle that you are already carrying before you can punt or raft.

Good to know. I planted lots of stuff in autumn and it withered and died in the winter, I might get a nice surprise next spring as it looks like I might survive my first winter having snagged 3 elk and 2 bears.

As far as I am aware there is no lifetime limit to the viability of seeds, normally you would harvest them one year and plant them in the spring next year. The only important thing is to plant them soon enough so they can mature for harvest before autumn frosts cause them to wither and die.

Sounds like a different, interesting variation on the original challenger or the island challenge, but I died so many times on them that I have been trying a different challenge, partly like this one.

I play as an outcast, even changed my tribe name to the Outcast, no interaction with villages at all, I pick a start well away from any tribes cultural area. I keep my initial gear but need to survive a year to claim I beat the challenge.

The dip net is based on a fishing rod, see the diy_bac_toolmaking.txt file. This means it inherits the fishing rod property, like being adlse to add hooks.

It may help to change it to Net which should allow fishing for fish as well as ore, or you may need to change it to some other tool or hunting horn.

I cannot test this myself as I am still saving up to buy 3.71,
