I think I've already proposed this in the past. It makes a lot of sense in my opinion. It's much better to see a Northern character with only reindeers instead of cows and sheep.

@Jakob very neat cabin, I like it!

@JP_Finn that's a cool little trick I'm going to try in my next playthrough  ;D

It's about time I made a gigantic longhouse with indoor cellar / smoking room and indoor stable.

I would also like something like this, but I imagine it would take a huge amount of work. The calorie intake is modelled pretty well, but to model vitamins and minerals.. as a developer, I shudder to think of it.

It could be simplified with a sort of "varied diet" indicator. If it's low, you have a higher chance of getting sick with a few ailments. Complex dishes would increase it, so you would leave dried meat for hard labour and travels, not as your only-food. While travelling for a long time, you might end up eating a few berries just to keep it up.

This is an extreme simplification, but it would work in giving us a reason to cook those stews and soups (and even a dessert of berries..) instead of just chugging dried meat.

What an amazing project. When I'm old and retired, I'm sure I'll still lurk the forums, excited by the next update. You guys rock! :)

This is very cool, and I've long wished for a real effect of wind, as it's available in many survival games now (the long dark comes to mind). The effect of wetness too.

Blizzards influencing game mechanics (eg, not being able to use the overland map) would be great.

Here's wishing for this being the focus of the 2020 update..  ;D

Raft weight shall be fixed. It's indeed way too low,  80 pounds currently.
Numerous raft related additions are also being planned, for example small raft from slender trunks.
Also, rowing the raft should be way slower than going with a punt. Moving a heavy raft with paddle should be both slow and quite a bit exhausting as well.

May I suggest that a sesta should give a noticeable improvement in moving the raft, compared to a paddle?

This would give it a good advantage, to balance out its disadvantage with water depth.

Yeah, in the base game (not the new beta) rafts weigh 80 lbs. I believe a mod fixed them by making them heavier.

Haven't tried the beta, so maybe they fixed it? Or do you use mods?

Yeah, I agree - either that, or the final raft should be WAY heavier (thus forcing us to buy a punt for mobility).

I concur - and the game can easily check the actual spoilage, and adjust as needed (eg, would need to be fairly fresh to be accepted in large quantities).
