Suggestions / Re: Too many Njerps?
« on: May 23, 2020, 12:12:49 PM »
If you use @Night tool, you can see all the Njerpez generated in your area. Just edit your stats and activate ninja mode, and you will see all creatures around you. As far as I noticed, their numbers grow if you linger more in an area, maybe I am wrong tho. Wouldn't be the first time  :-*

Going to read about it, I like smoked/dried fish (both), but I rarely find quality when purchasing. Not smoked/not dried enough, plus a few ingredients can change the taste a lot.

I live in an apartment, but we are planning to buy this summer a house with an acre of land not too far but not too close to the city, with a river near, good to blow out steam and also good in case we decide to start a bit of automated mini agriculture.

I like both city and wild life, I can't see myself moving in the wilds for good, but I don't like living only in the city either.

A friend of a friend has a coop with a few tens of hens, mostly automated. He only gathers the eggs from a recipient 2-3 times a week and fills the food auto machine once a week or so. I like the idea, I can ask a neighbor to do most of that, and I can go and take the eggs, and that's it  ;D And if I throw in a few more hens for the neighbor I won't have to pay for his help either lol.

Off topic on topic question. Is there a good smoking guide for quick methods? I mean not the ones that require 10 days of smoking. I'd like to have fun and smoke me some meat in my hiking trips, maybe I will smoke myself some really good stuff and become a smoking chef  ;D. Thank you

PS: Also, what kind of meat would be best? I am no hunter, and in my country although it's full of poachers and deforesters, the laws are supposedly harsh and you can't hunt or cut logs unless you go through 10 thousand miles of bureaucracy. Supposedly.

General Discussion / Re: Does BAC reduce realism?

Now you don't have to imagine mining as a 100m underground process. More like a surface deposit thing. But BAC is awesome, nevertheless. Still haven't used the mining stuff, but I will at some point in the future.

My picks: URW Graphical Enhancement Project, JCM, BAC, bees mead and coop. First 2 are graphical.

Gameplay questions / Re: Multiplayer - what are your opinions?
« on: May 16, 2020, 12:13:11 PM »
I'd rather make a text browser based multiplayer game based on this, and add human interaction. Take all the UW actions, make them browser based, add human interactions, like living in villages, communities, the ancient variant of village mayor who is chosen somehow, shamans, families, wars between villages or areas, etc.

It would be pretty easy to do since you already have the individual actions from UW and you know what you have to do, and just add human interactions layer, tribes, etc. I'd also keep the NPCs too, and make NPC invasions, etc.

To make communities matter I'd make invasions a thing so you are encouraged to be a part of a community, even if you walk freely around an area. So if you are alone you have a high chance of being savaged by Njerpez warriors, etc., but if you are a part of a strong community, the Njerpez will ponder more if to attack you because they would be afraid of the retaliation of your community. So on. Mandatory wars, I.E., if you don't answer the call of the "mayor" for war, you will be automatically excluded from the community and be banned from joining other communities for 15 days or so ( people know your reputation and don't want a pussycat among their ranks, etc).

Etc, etc, etc.

General Discussion / Re: What's the warmest fur?
« on: May 14, 2020, 12:40:17 PM »
According to this: https://unrealworld.fandom.com/wiki/Clothing  , bear and badger are best for warmth.

PS: Bear is best for everything, not only warmth. Couple that with Iron protection and you are set to go.

Maybe someone can check the game files to see which one is better.

Maybe you can add a Njerpez counter for debugging? Related to areas, etc. Each time you save the game, the Njerpez numbers will be saved somewhere so you can check them.

spiritual nonsense so they can cope
Excluding a talk on religions, the placebo effect of believing in God, Allah, Budha, can be a strong support for anybody. If you believe in you, you know that a million thousand accidents can kill you in a second, or your job can be affected by a zillion factors you can't control. If you believe in money, you'd be pretty ignorant not to understand that many of the previous factors can affect you radically, including burying you, your family, etc. So on.

Bottom line, I'd be slow to judge other people as stupid because any given person can have a very limited amount on information about what is and what isn't, no matter how much time did we have to think about it.

And regarding the mindless panic, we see pretty clear what happens in the countries where people were "courageous" and hot witted. Check New York, Italy, Spain, the British PM whom is the best example of punished ignorance.

Medically speaking, when you have a virus that expands so quickly and kills so many people in such a short period of time, the smart decision is to take precaution measures. People tend to forget that in December it was present officially only in China, and in a couple of months it reached all the world.

Suggestions / Re: Dog commands
« on: April 12, 2020, 12:29:40 AM »
Conversation can be done shouting, so we either get a shouting range, or the conversation range increased, or a new dog/animal conversation range is added. But without those, dog commands outside conversation range need a range themselves, you can't have that, unless... we have psychic dogs :D

Adding animal conversation range is an issue, because dogs hear better than cows, and various species vary radically in terms of hearing capability.

And I am definitely not for psychic animals.

How can you call them if they are out of conversation range? Psychic dogs?  :o

Gameplay questions / Re: Problems with rituals
« on: April 11, 2020, 12:05:40 PM »
To be honest, the rituals seem lackluster to me. I use the ones related to hunting and fishing, donating pieces regularly, but just because I can afford it, I don't really care about what happens and how the forest looks at me :D And I ignore the rest of them, bar quests, because they don't offer to me anything worthy.

They could be made to offer something more palpable. A spiritual person could make use of some spiritual bonuses. I mean if you do have faith in something, and a strong belief pushes you forward, you will be better motivated, more focused. It's not necessarily a supernatural thing.
