Gameplay questions / Re: Winter Fur

The BAC smithung refine iron does have some drawbacks, the first being it will pick the best quality you have in your inventory or on the ground. The second  thing  is the skill level can produce ppoor or inferior items, even from a fine input. You need to be careful to only have low quality. inputs on or near you

Modding / Re: Is there a way to disable a vanilla menu letter?

It would also be nice to ne able to rename base menus.

Modding / Re: [3_80] Arrow recipe is where?
« on: June 09, 2023, 09:30:19 AM »
I am fairly sure the arrow is hardcoded as is the Make A  menu.

If you delete the  [SUBMENU_START:arrow] entries on diy glossary then move the BAC fletching to the Arrow menu you will get two entries for arrow, the rather lame new vanilla one and the improved a long time ago BAC one.

It is a B AC item and is basically a big rock, so impassable for everything except birds.

It does only seem to apply only to milkweed plants, I have not tried yet with an empty inventory but the last attempt was a new game with only startup items.

Alt a i to harvest and pick places the milkweeds in my inventory and trying to drop them to thresh causes ctd.
Harvest and thresh without picking them up works OK. The code posted above is something I use if I pick up some milkweeds by mistake, it removes them from my inventory without opening the inventory.
I am not sure what you mean by 'Have you tried this code alone, with no other file editing in place? '

I will try again to use the new harvest and thresh system, I am certain that this crashes the system just as any case where I open an inventory with milkweed plants in it.

Suggestions / Re: Make nettle seeds a thing
« on: May 17, 2023, 10:09:37 AM »
Yes, my current character has over 300 nettle seeds, (about 6 ibs) and I have used a lot in cookery, even adding them to long bread. I do not bother growing them as there are thousand all around my settlement.

As the elk backstrap recipe use {*elk* carcass*} this should also catch the bull elk, this would mean the bull elk could be used to get backstrap tendons from another large animal like a bear.

General Discussion / Re: Three years in the Unreal World

I do not recall ever having anything better than decent, sometimes poor. Then again my best character is only 18, which I can almost remember irl.

Thanks for the updates. You will also find the vanilla weight of clothing changed some time to be about half what it was, the wiki shows the new weights, all clothing in BAC uses twice as much cloth as it should.

An ieon anvil is definitely a good idea, a good quality one really pays for the time to make it, anything you make is almost certain to be fine quality.

Just to confirm, this weight problem is also in 3.80 beta.

Gameplay questions / Re: WEATHELORE CAN INCREASE!

I still cannot see why weatherlore is a skill, fire lighting skill would at least be useful.
