Gameplay questions / Jinxing traps

  Have you guys noticed that traps only fail to capture the animal when the the player is looking at them? Or is it a superstition of mine? ??? Turning my back to a charging wolf to capture it in a big deadfall trap is a bit of a habit from me 8).

Bug reports / Wrong weight for the loop snares

 Hi everyone, I think the weight for the loop snares has been wrong since the tying equipment overhaul. A 15 ft cord weights 0,5 lbs but the loop snare which is made using 3 ft of the cord, weights the same as before instead of 0,1 lbs, a fifth of the total.

  Hi, I started a new character to experience the fire improvements and was residing in a village with a sauna using it as a smokehouse when out of the blue the villagers threatened me for starting a fire. I had been starting fires in the sauna for a month with several villagers around and no one objected so I think it may be a bug.

  Hi Sami, since it's time for a tracking related update I thought I should report a minor nuisance.
  Sometimes when animal tracks overlap the size and freshness of the track is altered instead of displaying the mixed tracks message, it's a nuisance in the animal in the forest cover quest

that usually spawns a predator who can pass through the searched animal tracks and create a false freshest one
and when chasing an individual in a herd of reindeers of different sizes through a track filled terrain.
  I don't have a save right now but can find an example in one if needed.

  Hi everyone, I think this bug hasn't been reported officially in the bug reports section (did a quick search for "treasure") but if it has I can remove or merge it with the original.
  I did a escort quest and received as reward a treasure location but there was none to be found in the two caves inside the region, only a random leather cuirass and a mother bear and her cub.
  I saw in some posts mentions of treasure disappearing after map maintenance and indeed it happened between the quest completion and me checking the caves so it may be the cause. I'll e-mail Sami the file after posting this.

  I'm not sure if it is a bug or an unusual feature. Can foxes swim in the game? I saw a fox in deep water and later it came close to shore but got stuck before the edge, maybe because it couldn't pass the shallow water. I think it got to the middle of the lake when it was iced over and when the ice melted it didn't drown ???

  Thank you, PALU and Sami, for the fast replies. One of the things I like about Unreal World is that it emulates the impresivibility aspect of life very well, I've never seen a fox swim before. Also, I have the save of the fox stuck next to the shore if you would like to examine, Sami. 

  I read another similar report by Plotinus but I believe this bug is different because there was no message in the log about the skin being taken, only the usual starting message when you start the skinning process and the interruption message caused by full fatigue.
  At first, I didn't notice the absence of the skin in the inventory because I thought the carcass hadn't been completely skinned, later, returning with a trunk for a fire and trying to resume skinning I was warned that it was already skinned but the skin was nowhere to be seen.
  I'll send the save after posting this to help clarify the situation. 

Hi, I ran into something potentially buggy in the forest cover quest. The most recent tracks were in the already dangerous ice in the Seedtime month and once the animal appeared after the spell was performed it wouldn't follow me in the zoomed out map so I had to return to the village in the zoomed in map to complete it :'(. I have the save stored if Sami needs to examine it.

General Discussion / Njerpez in trouble

    I was hunting a Njerpez by moving carefully while hiding when I heard a cry for help: "I need a skinning tool!", after a few more steps I saw him circling a bird carcass and that indeed, he had no knife in his inventory. I wonder if I'd managed to talk with him without triggering an attack I might have traded him a knife like in that post I saw around the forum ???. He probably would have used it to poke me in the eye anyway :P.

Hi, I'm playing the 3.6 beta version on Steam and after the drying period there are more cords than there should be for the amount of prepared meat, based on the quantity I believe all the cords that were used to dry meat in that tile became available after the first batch was completed, to confirm this I will keep playing until the next batch is done and then update this post.

Indeed my guess was correct, after the next set of meat was done the amount of dried meat in the the tile increased but not the number of cords.

Hi, I'm playing the 3.6 beta version and the birch trees that had their bark removed appear as "(partially felled)" instead of "(barkless)". Is that a mistake or birches have thick bark and its removal makes them easier to cut down?

Suggestions / Precautions against accidental fire setting

  In my previous character I have accidentally set fire to my masterwork northern bow using my fine arrows as kindling :'( to prevent a similar situation I'd like to make a couple of suggestions: not being able to use arrows as kindling or to add a check similar to the one that prevents butchering before skinning, and to remove the possibility of setting fires out of sight.

Modding / Question about the Shaman Mod

  Hi, I posted this question before the forum crash but it seems it has disappeared from the list, so if it comes back I'll delete this one.
  I am playing with the Shaman Mod installed and can't find the ingredient "Reindeer Donor" for the the recipe "Reindeer Blood", I tried using a forest reindeer and a regular reindeer carcass on my inventory, both skinned and not, using the fresh meat of both and naming the reindeer "Reindeer", "Reindeer Donor" and "Donor" to see if I could draw blood without killing it.
  Can someone tell me what to use or give me a hint if they are against spoilers? 

Modding / Question about the Shaman Mod

  Hi, I've installed the Shaman Mod and I am playing with a would-be Shaman but I can't find the "Reindeer Donor" ingredient for the Reindeer blood recipe.
  I've tried holding both the Forest Reindeer and the domesticated Reindeer carcass in my inventory skinned and not, naming the leashed reindeer "Reindeer" and "Donor" and "Reindeer Donor" to see if could draw blood from it without killing it and using the cut meat as the ingredient but none of it worked, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong or hint me if they're against spoilers?

  Hi, I was doing the animal in the forest cover for the second time and ran into some problems that I think may be caused by a bug.
  I found the freshest tracks, lit the spruce fire and then the animal appeared but it wouldn't follow me, I quit the game to save the file and test if it would follow me in the zoomed out map, when I loaded it the animal wasn't as near me as before, following the very fresh tracks into a dead end I lit a new spruce fire on them which caused the animal to reappear but it still wouldn't follow me.

  I'm not sure if it's a bug because the quest giver warns that if the character doesn't has a good relation to the spirits it would bring misfortune and the character has received a lot of "You feel an angry wind" messages.
