General Discussion / Re: What's Going On In Your Unreal World?
« on: March 04, 2018, 01:32:28 PM »
Just caught 2 bears within 1 week in the early spring. Now I got 48lbs of bear fur, 350+ cut of dried meat. Never felt better than this..

Suggestions / Re: Reduce the difficulty of climbing trees

Definitely agree with you. I for example never use tree climbing for the fear of falling. Reducing the chance of falling would be a good idea indeed.

Suggestions / Equipped items should be visible

The title is pretty self explanatory. My character model should change according to what I wield and wear. If I am using skis, there should be skis under my feet, or a spear, bow, etc. in my hand. Same goes for our clothings also. What I wear should change how my model looks. It would be a really good feeling to see yourself in full of fur clothings in the winter or with light clothings in the summer or hunting with a bow in your hands. Thus we'll be able to feel within the world better.

Suggestions / Temperatures across the map should be different
« on: March 04, 2018, 11:31:55 AM »
Throught the game I found that the temperatures do differ from north to south but not that much. In my opinion being in the north or in the south should change how you play your game. If I live in the north I should start to get worried about the cold much sooner than someone who lives in the south(same for the summer in south). Also winter should be much more colder in north. Moreover terrain type should slightly effect temperatures too. For example if i am on a mountain terrain it should be slightly colder than, say, a forest etc.

Geographically speaking I know that temperatures doesn't differ too much in Finland from north to south(5-6 Celsius most) but as I said this slight difference can be changed for the sake of gameplay.

Gameplay questions / Re: Catching a glutton - advice?
« on: March 04, 2018, 02:22:12 AM »
In my experiences spoiled and fresh meat/fish doesn't seem to matter. As long as they are raw, animals will eat them(roasted meat/fish is practically useless. They can only be used in rituals). Also as mentioned, try to set your traps away from your camp. In the past, traps used to spawn animals(by a high percent) then Sami changed that to make hunting more realistic. But at the end of his statement he said that traps still attract animals to the area, although considerably low than before(there is also a possibility that your traps may sit empty for months). So take these into consideration when you are placing your traps.

Gameplay questions / Re: "The forest around looks extremely hostile."
« on: March 04, 2018, 01:58:40 AM »
The exact same thing happened to me today. I was skinning the fox that I just caught. Then decided to sacrifice 1 cut of it's meat to thank the forest spirit. When I performed the ritual, I felt comfortable. Everything seemed alright. Then after a good night sleep with a full belly, I woke up feeling scared. Maybe my sacrife wasn't enough or maybe I did some other thing that angered forest spirit. I still don't know. But my advice would be to give more sacrifices to spirits for a couple of days or atleast that's what I think so.
