I've always found frustrating the fact that you can't pay with the same item that you're trading for in different quality.

Typical scenario is:
- Going to a village to see what they have
- Find a better quality item X that the one I'm carrying
- Want to exchange it with the one I have and pay the difference with something else
- Villager says "It's you that want X, not me" (or similar)

This forces me to make two trades, one to acquire better quality item, and one to dispose of lesser quality item.
This causes:
- Nuisance
- Overhead, you lose a bit on any transaction
- Needing the full trading price of better quality item excluding lesser quality item

I think this was set up when there was no quality to items, but right now I don't think it makes much sense

Both birch bark strips have been acquired on hotfix 3.
Both were 90 ft and weighted 2 lbs.
One was used to make two birch bark shoes and now is 70 ft and 0.9 lbs.
IMO length and weight should be lineal

Suggestions / Make the view distance unaffected by current zoom
« on: September 25, 2019, 10:28:59 AM »
Hi guys!
When exploring (on foot or on the map) the zone that gets discovered depends on the zoom you're in; you only discover what you can see in the screen. When you have max zoom you only discover what gets displayed on the screen but when you zoom out you get to discover more even though the character makes no movement or action.

For example:
1. Zoomed in I walked forward, then turned around and zoomed out. You can see what got discovered matches the zoom screen when I was looking that way

2. Turned around again facing the original direction and got to see more, just because I'm zoomed out.

I don't know if this is intentional or not, but it seems to me that's just something that got overlooked
Thanks

PD: Can't get the images to insert, don't know why
PD2: Thanks Plotinus

Suggestions / Ability to set aspect ratio 16:9
« on: September 25, 2019, 10:13:50 AM »
Hi!
I think it would be a great addition to be able to switch to a 16:9 aspect ratio since all modern screens 16:9.
It could be configurable at .ini for windowed and automatic when fullscreen it's enabled.
Thanks

Bug reports / Target confusion
« on: November 27, 2018, 07:09:31 PM »
I went Njerpez hunting with my dog leashed.
Found one and chased him shooting till he went unconscious.
Closed in to deal the final blow. My dog went over him attacking.
I attacked the tile where both were and the "final blow" menu displayed (only displayed for unconscious targets) and I thought it was targeting the njerpez. I selected point neck with my hunting knife and it ended up targeting the neck of the dog which was conscious.

Supposing it could be that I was targeting the njerpez and I just failed and hit the dog but it's suspicious that I hit the same targeted body part. In any case, if this is not a bug, there should be a target menu selection, even if there's a chance for you to fail and hit the other creature.

In the game it says:
Quote
You get a good catch if you step in the punt backwards and launch it in the water backwards.

I don't seem to find a way to perform it. I should get a message right?
I tryed:
- Stepping into a punt on the floor next to the water backwards and continue entering the water backwards on the punt
- Stepping into a punt on the floor next to the water backwards grabbing it and throwing it into the water

Do you know ho to perform it?

Suggestions / Suggestion: Allow trading in exchange for same item type
« on: January 10, 2018, 06:18:13 PM »
Hi,
When you're trading for an item, they don't accept items of the same type (It's you who wants ___, not me).

For example, let's say I have a northern bow and I find a fine northern bow. When trading, they don't accept my normal northern bow in the trade.
This functionality makes you exchange the item you want to upgrade for a trade item (like arrows) and then try to buy the item you wanted in the first place with the risk of not having enough to buy the upgrade ending without the item you had in the first place.

Another one, let's say I have a fur I want to exchange for arrows. I don't know how many arrows my fur it's worth so I start at a number and keep reseting the trade lowering that number till my fur it's accepted. Why couldn't I start the trade for X arrows in exchange for my fur and an increasing number of my arrows till the trade it's accepted? Wouldn't that be a more convenient way of performing the same trade?

To me, it looks like an unnecessary control that producces hassle for no reason.
Thanks!
