This is basically every bear encounter I have.  (except he's fine)

The ability to name or label a peice of equipment Basically, one thing that I've found when amassing loot, is that it's easy to lose track of equipment that you have used oath of iron on if you get multiples of it.  Like the handaxe.  Especially since you can get multiple hand axe's and split into two different piles from robbers without the oath of iron.  It can be easy to lose track of your "main" weapon this way, at least until you end up trying to trade it anyway.

If you could label your equipment somehow, it would be easier to keep track of.  It could be as simple as carving an "x" into the object.  I dunno.

Re: Regarding dog's behaviour in front of danger I've certainly noticed different personalities in some of my dogs - I wrote a post on it some time ago (possibly the one PALU is referring to) on the old forum: http://z3.invisionfree.com/UrW_forum/index.php?showtopic=8145

While it's hard to be sure if the traits are actually there or just the result of confirmation bias, the main traits I've observed that appear to be on a range are:

Courageous versus cowardly (how long the dog continues to fight before fleeing due to wounds)
Gluttonous versus light eater (how long the dog goes before barking for food, stealing food or eating unusual foods)
Aggressive versus calm (how much damage the dog does to prey, quickness to attack, time to calm down, likelihood of attacking its master)
Clingy versus roamer (how far the dog prefers to be from its master, whether glued to your side or entire world tiles away)

Specifically on the courage of dogs in fights, three of the dogs I mentioned in the other post make a good example of the difference with a fight we had with a Njerp. The three dogs all attacked on command without a problem. The Njerp had a blunt weapon and started swinging at the dogs, and almost as soon as the fight started Olli was running away. Rikori stayed fighting until he was unable to stand, at which point he dragged himself away. Likewise, Sammi continued attacking until he also collapsed, at which point he tried to flee. I then stepped in and killed the Njerp (I was almost dead from a previous fight when we stumbled across the Njerp, so I was keeping well back from him). Sammi and Rikori were a mess, both with fractured shoulders, elbows, legs and chests and a bleeding fractured skull for Rik, who spent the next several hours slipping in and out of consciousness before thankfully stabilizing. Olli, when he finally showed up, had a bruised shoulder. Olli did not get fed that night.

Re: Quality of Life (for the Player) Improvements 1.  Changing this would IMHO be much too unrealistic.

2.  I like this suggestion.

3.  You can already do this by canceling the eating before finished. I call it "tasting" the food.

Re: Stews Okay, so from a survival aspect, meat stew is a terrible choice then, because all your really doing is combining 3 cuts of meat and a small quart of water, and it takes 4 hours...

When I got radishes from a village to the south (glad I can buy them instead of having to steal them and then avoid the place for like 6 months), I found that fish soup was a little better, in terms of nutrition to meat, since you are adding weight and some small nutrition from the radishes as well.  Still seems strictly worse than roasting, but I like the idea of eating fish soup instead of dried meat all the time at the very least.

On that note, I do hope the nutrition system get's an overhaul at some point.  I know the idea is that you are supposed to require meat in order to not starve, but it seems like meat is too powerful in that regard.  Like if you eat 5 fistfuls of raspberries instead you'll drop like several nutrition levels.  Not even joking, it's like the people of iron age Finland went foraging for potato chips or something.

What's Going On In Your Unreal World? I'm bringing a classic back because I almost burn myself to death today. I was burning a field for herbs and walked near the fires while carrying the stakes to make the fence, the stakes caught fire under me... I was too fatigued to move and I panicked IRL for a few seconds until I tried to zoom out. That worked and saved my character.

Now my arm is useless and I can't prepare the soil I was burning or complete the fence...  :-\

Re: What's Going On In Your Unreal World? Not much at the moment.  I'm training my carpentry skills by making paddles from boards so that I can eventually start making my own arrows.  Mostly to not waste the feathers I get.  I may not have to make my own arrows though, if these robbers keep showing up to give me hand-axes instead.

Re: What's Going On In Your Unreal World? I'm not really playing as of lately(because of school), but on my last character i made a fence trap where there was some 10 reindeer, 3 days later came back to check and they were all trapped lol. It took me more than a month in game to process all the stuff...

Re: Mors Kochanski, 40+ years of Bushcraft Mors Kochanski is amazing! He instructed the bushcraft instructor who instructed me.  He is a true master.

I have a few of his out-of-print videos, which I might be convinced to share if I were convinced they were going to someone who would make good use of them. :)
