Re: [Fixed - 3.60beta hotfix2] Disassembling deadfall trap results in extra rope

Trying to get rid of the early glitches asap, so that I can continue with the remaining to-dos.

Re: Version 3.60 beta [for Windows] released on Steam, and for Lifetime members I'm very happy to see UrW in good shape and growing, but sad to hear that the donations dried. I guess it was to expect when the game lanched into Steam...

I'll do my part and spread word of the awesomeness of UrW in every forum I stumble upon, as I usually do ;)

Re: Wild animals suiciding on melting ice? The frequency with which it "should" happen has to be a judgement call. My personal gut feeling is that it happens a little too often and that the rate could easily be cut in half without becoming exceedingly rare. However, it's in the right ballpark as it is currently, at least in my opinion.

Re: [Fixed - persists in 3.60b hotfix 3] Extra cords after drying meat I've got the Hotfix 3, yes. I had 4 more different groups of meat smoking simultaneously, all on my table in the cabin. One finished smoking and this time I had 13 cords, which apparently was a combination of the prior batches and this one. Sounds like what you've just described, Sami. Thanks!

Re: Wild animals suiciding on melting ice? So I want to thank everybody for sharing their stories  :) I also loved Sami's post with real life references  :) very nice, I had no idea this happens today. I must admit though that where I live we only have frozen lakes every 5-10 years so I never thought about it more...

I have come to the conclusion that my scenario was (unintentionally) more likely to result in drowned animals, because with the hurt helpless and afraid start in spring time I spent nearly all my time in the first 5 (?) weeks at the shore or in the middle of frozen lakes trying to catch some fish with a rock or a crude javelin. If I understand the game correctly, only parts of the map where you already zoomed in are simulated in detail (at least the save games get much bigger when I have visited more places) so the fact that I was there all the time may be the most important factor.

Can anybody offer some insight if this assumption is correct? After all I feel less cheesy now for profiting from these poor animals with so little effort  ;D

Re: Version 3.60 beta for all platforms now available on Steam, and for Lifetimers As a Mac user I say cheers for giving me no doubt what to use my Sunday on, for the rest of the day :D Thank you Sami!

*EDIT* There is currently no available betas in the menu to choose from. Has anyone else been able to select it?

***LAST EDIT*** Sorry, I did not read the Steam news, which contained the info needed. Nevermind me.

That's never happened to me before! I have a trap/fence built near a very small lake. It has 6 or 7 pit traps in it. Last night I went to check it and, Lo!, I see a reindeer between the trapline and the lakeshore. I'm hoping that I can stampede it through a trap. It runs faster than I can track it, but, I find another deer, struggling in a pit. When I got closer, Wow!, the next trap down ALSO has a reindeer in it. I check the last two traps and the last one has a dead reindeer next to it AND a wolf trapped within the pit!

I'd love to know the story behind this event! After all the skinning, butchering (had to go back the next day for the last deer), tanning, and smoking, I took too long getting to the wolf pelt and it wound up harsh, but the three deer came out as decent pelts.
