IF you could see any mod created, what would it be? Without limitations, things that would be fun to have in game that wouldn't necessarily be fun for everyone or true to the current design.

Personally, I really enjoy the idea of demons, and the related things that could spawn/trigger them.

Imagine rare haunted forest tiles, filled with plenty of "ghost" game. Attacking one of the game successfully triggers a message "x passed through the animal without an effect..". Ghostly npcs that stalk the player, filling you with dread. Strange noises.

Perhaps when the user is close to escaping the forest you could pass out and end up back in the center again, or in a forest far away. Would become a lost adventurer yourself then!

Imagine needing to keep an area lit if in the presence of demons, to prevent any one from attacking you. Strange, mystical curses and effects that would need to be lifted through rituals. Perhaps even demons that "possess" the player, and bring you both strengths and weaknesses (eg, becoming incredibly good at combat, but only able to eat human flesh, or incapable of eating meat, or constantly attracting danger.. many possibilities here.) Demons and gods that you could choose to worship that bring such effects. Rituals to banish or even summon demons. Possessed animals that attack ferociously. Quests given by npcs to banish the demons from their lands. Ect.

The list goes on ;D

Re: [Short story] Faster. Oskari the child, curiously ask why I made the big deadfall trap. "To outsmart, not outrun" I said.
Screams, swears and growls exploded behind me, from the center of the village, all of sudden.
I ran, unleashed my hounds, hands on my bow and arrows. Only to find it is too far, no windows to shoot.
Men and women were slaughtered by the beasts, boys and dogs tried hard to save them, only to be overran.
In split of seconds, chaos became silent bloodshed.

I wish I could run faster.

Re: Nefarious NPC I think they can add a great moral dilemma into the game. Maybe one village's all animals have perished, and out of desperation they decide to steal some animals. Will you help the poor villagers or you think that no matter what the circumstances are one shouldn't commit such a thing. They might add a greater immersion and personality into the villages and into your character.

But obviously these kind of quests would require a huge scenario to be built, and all the AI and everything need to be coded in also.

Re: Hillforts and tribal protected areas Yes please.
Should also include a watch tower / hunting tower. And a ladder to climb up and down. To the tower. *

The hill forts should be spawned on the edges of the cultural area (not extending the area like settlements and villages do)and only spawning on hills, cliffs or mountains.

*maybe allow building fixed ladders to caves, cabin roof access et cetera. Notched log type, not 2 beams and rungs.

Re: Nefarious NPC or maybe even take Njerp raiding party to a another cultural area... (how that quest would be given, well, nefarious folks might have their ways?)
Or Reemi/Kiesse/Kaumo group to raid/avenge Sarto/Driik area...?

Re: Which game update you are looking forward to? Actually I am looking forward to see this marriage thing.

Personally I would prefer some settlement foundation update, so you can grow your own village. Hire people from other settlements and maybe the join your village when dont need their direct service anymore.

Some things I would also like to see is, growing your own animals, speak if have a sheep and a ram, there should be a chance every year to get an young sheep/ram.
Getting wool from sheep would be nice aswell.

More craftable basic things in vanilla, without needing to mod the game, is also a thing I really want.
Some easy things like nets, fishing rods, wooden tubs, pot aso. -- anoying that we can get those things only from trades.
Overwork of arrow crafting also needed, stupid to make arrows just from a branch, rock and feathers without any quality. Arrows should be made from shafts, arrowheads and feathers.

Some use for bones beside feeding dogs.

And a tailoring proffession, really missing.
Abillity to tailor nettle and woolen clothes and option to repair it if damaged.

There is so much potential in this game.
Well lets see what will come in future.

Killing foreign traders in 10 easy steps! If you don't like exploits, don't read any further!  ;)

Hi guys,

I discovered (or re-discovered, surely somebody already thougth of this) a simpler, friendlier way to be a mass murderer to eliminate foreign traders.

First, about you:

1. Please have your bow skill as high as possible. Above 75 is fine, but YMMV. (Be nice and please be born as an Owl guy, with high eyesight and dexterity. Thanks)
2. Have in your posession many furs. Good furs. Winter furs, from the North.
3. Also, a good bow and some arrows/broadheads may be useful, or so people say.
4. Some armor, but not so heavy it impairs your bow skill significantly. A good fur overcoat and/or a cuirass (depending on your strength) are enough.

Location:

5. Meet the traders in some kind of open terrain. A frozen lake, an open mire or similar. No one's going to hide!

Time:

6. "Frozen lake" wasn't a poetic preference. Do this in the deepest winter, with the snow almost touching your cristallized but still functioning testicles.

Algorithm:

7. Look carefully at the happy traders. Ascertain which ones are selling arrows and broadheads. Buy all of them with your furs (you remembered to bring them, right?) Smile. Try to learn to say "hello" and "thanks" in their language. Also, "you suckers!". Keep smiling. It is a wonderful cultural exchange (you may also buy some of their swords and axes to be extra sure, if you have enough furs).

8. Once you are the only one that has any arrows and/or  broadheads in a ten kilometer radius, step back to a comfortable distance, take your bow, bow, and start shooting. Use the broads at first against the nearest traders. Your objective is to kill or maim. Once a trader is unable to walk, let him crawl awhile and shoot the ones still standing. NEVER RUN! Ski backwards, let them tire themselves in the gonads-high snow. The more hurt they get, the faster they'll tire. After a few good-placed shots, all those sword-and-axe wielding capitalists will be either dead, crawling in the snow or so hurt/tired they will never harm you. If you are running out of arrows, give the coup-de-grace to the nearest blue sad sack and retrieve your arrows.

9. Recover your furs, arrows, and add an ungodly, game-breaking amount of loot.

10. Optionally, feel guilty. Not recommended. It is a game. (You know that, right?)

And that's it. I don't think this is an original find, but I discovered it with my latest character, a mad Owl with bow skill at 97 that got invaded by a band of traders that just wouldn't leave the settlement, and he was kind of a nervous little man. A sensitive, delicate soul, what can I say...

Re: Killing foreign traders in 10 easy steps! Don't worry. Just woo the traders with your new, sexy falsetto voice. But be sure to name your character Farinelloinen, eh? ;D

I tried this exploit in a heath field with no ice or snow. Apart from sparing me the testicular cryogenics, it worked very well. Usually there are like 1-3 traders with ranged weapons, so you need the same amount of furs to buy their arrows, one for each trader. Bring 1-2 extra just in case. (you'll recover them or die, so just don't worry) If you can buy their bows/crossbows, great, that way they can't shoot you with a picked-up arrow.

And lastly, I was wrong about the armor: just forget about it. If it gets to a melee, you lost. Wear almost nothing but your weapons, not even the skis. You need to be as deadly as possible at a distance for this exploit to work.

Just to make it clear, I normally hate exploits. But after doing all kinds of challenges to make this game harder, I decided to give my next character an easier life  ;).
