Re: Focus on Endgame Content Has anyone really managed to take a character to 12+ years? I have been playing the same character for almost two years or more IRL and he is only in his 4th winter...

Drawings of my travels in UnReal. HI,

I didn't know where or how to post this, so it's going here.

Last Inktober 2016 I did a series of drawings, and from the 16th October to the 23rd they are inspired by UnReal World and a few characters I was playing with then.

Please feel free to comment and discuss.

Thanks,

Leather Working Started doing some leather work.  Lots of experiments at first.  Been meaning to throw this picture up and say something.

Since I have a bow and arrows, the puny excuse for a quiver that came with the arrows led me to make one myself.  It was my first attempt at making leather lace (the strings) for sewing and the long scrap leather piece I had rolled up nicely to make a cylinder.  Its irregular shape was not an issue at all.

All in all it was quite interesting and didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would.  Even cutting the lace was pretty easy.  I took a small board and cut a narrow slit about an inch deep into it.  I took a razor blade and bolted it down, cutting edge against the narrow slit.  Then just pulled the edge of the leather through to make nice, consistent leather lace/strings.  I can see this being a similar thing with simpler tools even... say nailing an sharp edge to a board kind of thing.

Of course an awl (in my case a leather hole punch) can be used to make holes.

Just thought it would be interesting to pass on to you Unreal World players.

Ignore the revolver holster.  It works, but I just threw that one together to test some things. My other holsters look much better. lol

[let it be] Re: Forest maiden quest (possible spoiler) To me this is great, moody scene a game can generate. Really sparks your imagination.
I wouldn't take action on this one, unless it's reported, say, dozen times more ;)

...fails to deliver a summer release || ...enters summer vacation.
Code: [Select]
You dream of a summer release.
You aim your fingers at the keyboard and code.
You fail to deliver a summer release.

You know, that's what has happened to me.
Like mentioned in earlier posts I dreamed of a summer release, and a proper long holiday afterwards.
But...we're behind the schedule with several planned goals and just can't make it.
Deadlines and summer - I should have known they don't go together.

So, hopes to come up with a new patch is thus postponed after the summer. I'll be entering summer vacation shortly, for the whole august.
This means I'll be more absent in regards to game related forums and e-mail activity.
Coding is to be continued in the autumn then, but some additional content is still to be expected sooner...

Steam Trading cards

Yeeees, the trading cards. That's what we will be releasing before I leave the development chambers. It's actually the trading cards (with emoticons, badges and all that extra) which have postponed my general working schedule more than expected. Ambitions can take time, you know, but we already love the outcome ever so much. So at least for Steam players there will be something new in UnReal World to browse during the summer.
A proper, loud and clear announcement of Trading Card release will be posted when the time is at hand.
You can still prepare yourselves, foreign and domestic card traders -- it's going to be beautiful!

Greetings from horseback

Code: [Select]
You aim your bow at a target from the horseback and shoot.
You are doing horseback archery.

You know, and speaking of dreaming, that has also happened to me.

For as long as I've been doing primitive and traditional archer I've dreamed of one day going for horseback archery. Until this summer it's been horseback riding and archery separately, but this very year I've picked up and entered this form of archery and horsemanship I've always craved for. This is going to be a dedicated horseback archery year for me, and whether I'm on a vacation or not, we just might see the next video greetings consisting of horseback archery footage.

Meanwhile, I'll leave you with these few still shots. First from the horseback, then by the tranquil summer lakes around my neighborhood.

Best wishes. We'll catch up with everything in the autumn. But I'm sure at some point I'll be tempted to post a few holiday greetings as well.

Re: Birch bark for crafting You don't have to tell me. :D I appreciate his work very well. But I'm a busy man, too, and I know that this wish of mine might just only be work for half an hour for someone who knows what to do. Half an hour of work in trade for making many people happy then. That sounds good to me. This weekend I might have some spare time and I will probably try to do it and then I will share the result and add it to my suggestion. But since I don't know what to do, it will probably take hours for me to do. :D

Mr Squeeky There once was a man named Squeeky, a Kaumolais warrior of spears. He wasn't very sneaky, but he made his foes flee in fear.
He went to start his journey, travelling far off from his home. Those bandits did him tourney, near where Sartolais once did roam.

They asked him for his weapons, and he scoffed at those fools' commands. These bandits came near seven, each came with axes in his hands.
His first did fall so quickly, he felt just near invincible. The second struck too swiftly, and his cut was too terrible.

From all sides they kept coming, until he found those shielding trees. From one side they came rushing, and his duty set their souls free.
One remained at a distance, his bow still so softly twanging. A survivor this instance, where there should be only nothing?

Squeeky charged at his arrows, ignoring their deathly pierces. Just a man's soul would harrow, but Kaumolais is the fiercest.
His adventure was ended, so soon after it had begun. The bandit's corpse was rended, but Squeeky's will was left undone.

Re: Is there any way to turn the rendering of rain and snow off? Thank you! I had to enable both of them but it's fixed now. Shame the game looks a little worse but oh well, thanks very much!  ;D
