The "Craft Dinner" Challenge This isn't an extreme challenge by any means, but I was inspired by Nekot's "The Challenge" and Lurcolm's Reddit post where he wanted to play a crafter.

The "Craft Dinner" Challenge is simple. You survive by crafting and crafting only.

No hunting, no trapping, no fishing, no farming, no cannibalism.

You survive by crafting and trading for food or picking berries. You are also allowed to cook and bake.

However...

You are not allowed to butcher or process any animal or human carcasses for meat or trade.

Pretend that you were raised by an affluent peasant family in Iron Age Finland where they shipped you off to learn artisanal handiworks from a master crafter. However, your well-meaning family neglected to teach you the fine art of self-sufficiency and wilderness survival, and after a wave of influenza killed everyone you know, you are left on your own to survive.

You have now entered the "Craft Dinner" challenge.

Re: How did you discover UnReal World? -- 10 choice poll I need to change my vote. I thought I had found URW by accident, but I remember that I was looking for a game exactly like this. Extreme PvE, hermit lifestyle, extreme survival scenarios, and self-sufficiency.

I was trying to get away from other crafting/survival games that had too much PvP and MMO RP elements.

I think I first downloaded this two, maybe three, years ago. I really love the lone-wolf style, PvE environment of URW.

Re: Version 3.80 (beta) released
Would seem that poop isn't moddable as a base item! :(

Hmm, but poop can still be used as an ingredient in a recipe, like mud bricks!

Dirt + water + straw/hay + dung = brick.

Probably not historically accurate for Finland though, I'm guessing.

Re: [Not a bug] Two bugs - Sage quest & Field plants disappearing Thanks, Sami. I will take the character back to that same village a bunch and see if I can recreate the scenario. If I see it again, I'll send you the zipped file.

Re: 3.80 (beta) Mushrooms are both not fully ripe and withering at the same time Thanks, Sami.

It's been a long time since I've played this character and an even longer time since this character has been on this part of the map, but if I ever find this spot again, I'll create a save and send it to you as a zipped file. Thanks!

Re: Preserved meat/fish cooking and birch-bark pots Man, those new birch-bark pots are gonna make the blanching and eating of leeched poisonous mushrooms so much more accessible to the player! Instead of saving up resources to buy an iron pot, you can now make a quick and simple bark pot for easy access to eating.

My experience with edible poisonous mushrooms is with the very abundant bearpaw mush. Found in cone forests and spruce mires in late summer to autumn, bearpaws are a great and nutritious way to supplement your diet when prey is scarce.

If the somewhat elusive yellowfinger, yellowcoat, and browncoat mushrooms are the filet mignons of the forest floor, then bearpaws are the dependable chuck roasts. Abundant, affordable, and tasty after just a little bit of work.

Go out and grab some bearpaws, everyone!

Re: 3.80 (beta) Mushrooms are both not fully ripe and withering at the same time Ahh, thanks!

So mushrooms could still be a bug cause they are naturally occurring and the game could be "planting" them outside of a normal window of time...
