Minor bug: water craft and vanishing feathers I think you usually can't land water craft where there are items, but I successfully landed in tiles where there were feathers and they disappeared. Maybe something to do with how light they are?

Re: Various questions from a new player There shouldn't be any penalty for using stale fat or a mix of fat and bark. I can't remember if spoiled fat works. If you use the fat from the animal you can reduce penalties to 0. If you use bark, 99.9% of the time if you'll get at least a 1% penalty since the unused will be in your inventory.

Repairing clothing doesn't degrade quality, it will remain masterwork. You can use any fur to repair fur clothes, no penalty for quality either. However, if you use enough of one type of fur to repair the clothes, it can take on the properties of the fur type you used. For example, when I get masterwork fur clothes I like to use a little more than 1/2 for bandage/cords and then repair with bear fur. I then have masterwork bear fur clothes with additional pierce protection, even though the clothes won't say "bear fur."

Re: Parry as skill I feel like this is already modeled in the fact that the cultures that get + to timber craft also get + to axe skill. Those two skills also overlap in terms of starting stats, str/agi for axe and str/agi/dex for timber craft.

That would give axes a nice boost actually, since they kind of fall behind both spears and swords.

In my opinion If you don't consider starting skills the battle sword is the best melee weapon, if you do consider starting skills then the battle axe is the best weapon. Edge v. Point really seems to favor edge. I don't think axes need a boost.

Re: Buff metal armor, nerf leather and furs I hope I'm not hijacking this thread, but

"Armored like that I think my character shouldn't have been able to hurt the enemy."

I personally think that perfectly sums up the issues here. I think the main issue is a stacking issue; wearing 20 articles of clothing should hinder you regardless of how much they weigh. Maybe some % penalty for each article of clothing over x amount.

Also, due to the way item protection is calculated, degraded items are usually better than items in perfect condition(except metal.) Example, beaten up linen trousers at 0.1 weight still offer 1 edge and 1 point protection, versus 1 and 2 for full weight linen trousers (3.8?) For leathers and furs it's still better too, you can reduce some of the weight and still keep good edge/point protection. My previous 190 lb character with max endurance would have a total encumbrance of ~4-5% when fighting with maybe 25-35 articles of clothing and his weapon.

Add something cool to the NE part of the map I feel like the NE part of the map needs some love (north of njerpez.) Maybe this area could be harsher in terms of more wolves, colder winters, more njerpez or robbers? Or maybe more mystical? Or another faction... maybe aggressive or maybe temperamental?

Re: Njerpez Encounters in 3.63 Update here: After not getting any new camps spawn I acted on a hunch. I burned down the existing camps so that it showed up as "ground" on the wilderness map. Immediately new camps started spawning and I'd clear and burn them. I've cleared probably 6-10 more in a couple months (in no man's land thit spots,) I'll post a screen shot when I get home.

Edit: Attached a screenshot.  All the red X's are cleared and burned camps (21 I think.)  I think anytime you move in no mans land in the east theres a chance for a camp to spawn, but the game does a check if theres a camp nearby.  If there is it won't spawn, so clearing it gives the chance for more to spawn...I think.  Although now it seems to have stopped, harvest month currently so I wonder if that's the reason...if maybe spring and summer is the time for them to spawn.

Re: Njerpez Encounters in 3.63 So it's been about 8 or 9 months in game since I adopted the strategy of burning down the wooden buildings in cleared njerpez camps.  In total I've cleared either 41 or 42 camps total (including 1 from initial scenario and two east of southern reemi not included in this screenshot,) and I think that number was 6 or 7 before I started.  So in ~9 months I got ~35 njerpez camps to spawn.

So, if you're not getting enough Njerpez action where you are, move to no mans land between Reemi and Kaumo, roam around until you see those purple spots, then clear it and burn down the wooden buildings (you can leave the kotas.)

Side note but clearing all these camps led to the first time I ever saw an ango in game, and also a throwing axe.

Re: What exactly do the attributes affect? There's a dexterity check for when using weapons in combat too, if your dexterity is low you'll fumble more often.  Not sure if there's ever a dexterity check for performing other tasks.  Same with agility, you'll fall over in combat if your agility is bad, and  more likely to fall from a blow as well I think.
