Re: Send a Saved game If you press [7] in game, it'll clean up the tiles you haven't visited in a long time -- only tiles that don't have any of your things in them--, which will make the file size smaller

[3.60 beta-hotfix 2] NPC hunting - attacks my pet stag, lets me eat his meat Today I got to see an NPC hunting! I gave him a roach because i wanted him to cook it, and then I followed him around to see what he would do. There was a bear in the area that he was tracking. His dog stayed closer to me than to him while he was trailing than bear -- it may have been better for the dog to stay closer to his adventurer but maybe the dog judged i might be the bigger threat or maybe the NPC didnt want him rushing ahead and getting killed by the bear. Once the NPC got aggressive, the dog came running to help with the fight and together they took down the bear. The NPC skinned the bear and cut it for meat. He kept 76 meat cuts in his inventory and left the rest of the meat, the skull, and the bones on the ground. Then he lit 3 fires to roast the meat. He didn't mind when I picked up the skull, took out the teeth, hung it on a nearby pine (it would be a neat touch for the NPC to hang the skull himself). I hung around for a while, his dog ate some of the meat on the ground. He also didn't mind when I took the rest of his meat cuts -- this might not be a bug, because it was more than he could carry so I guess he didn't want it.

I saw in news.txt that tanning the hide isn't implemented yet.

In all this excitement I forgot to check whether he roasted that roach i gave him at the start, but I'll go back and find him again soon but I got the punt quest at the village I took the bear meat to so it'll be a little while to I can track him down.

Re: [3.60 beta-hotfix 2] NPC hunting - attacks my pet stag, lets me eat his meat Update! I caught up with him again. He's been busy. here he is skinning and butchering a forest reindeer. He doesn't have the roach anymore, maybe he ate it.

I tried to talk to him because i wanted to ask him about his skills, since i saw he got a harsh hide this time, but before i could do that he suddenly got aggressive: he'd found something new to hunt: My pet reindeer stag. At this point I'm going to save the game in case you want to look at it.

Re: [3.60 beta-hotfix 3] Birch-bark strips length and weight not lineal I think this is a rounding error. If it's 1.1 lb then it rounds up to 2, for all items not just this one. but if you compare the weight of your total inventory with the weight after you drop it, you'll learn the true weight.

Re: Measurements for terrain map and wilderness. It says in news.txt that you won't learn unless it's at least 5 tiles away.

- balanced: skill improvement with target practice

    * Target practice skill improvement rate has been decreased a bit.
        * Throwing/shooting at targets less than 5 tiles away isn't considered
a proper target practice and doesn't improve your skills.

[3.60 beta linux-1] adventurer doesn't collect his own arrows I found some human tracks near my home, the remains of a fire, some lynx bones, and a lot of arrows laying around. I eventually caught up with the adventurer who had been hunting there. I think he should try to collect some of his arrows after he is done hunting -- he shouldn't succeed at finding all of them but if he happens to be within a few tiles of his  arrow he should pick it up.

I noticed the arrows didn't have ownership on them though when I picked them up, so I guess it'd be tricky to work out which arrows he should feel free to take and which he should leave. If I leave arrows around my settlement then they are mine but if I shot an arrow farther away from my settlement and don't collect it then it would be fair if some adventurer took it.

Re: How many seeds do you plant per square? It's easy enough to just prepare more soil for planting. Suppose your first seed will sprout 1 plant and your next will sprout 5, if you plant them in the same place, you get 5 for 2 seeds. if oyu plant them in 2 tiles then you get 6 for 2 seeds. 5 < 6.
