Re: Small predators like ermine, pine-marten and polecat much more common
I agree with this, I think it can balance the trapping quite a bit. Mostly I am swimming in elk or reindeer hides if I set up half a tile trap line, catching mostly small animals would require you to invest a little bit more time to trapping and reduce it's passive power. As far as big animal hides, I think if Sami makes them harder to catch with traps, their value right now would make better sense imo. Active hunting makes it a little bit tricky to get perfect hides all the time because of the damage you need to make in order to kill. If you think about it, a huge hide which you can make a full dress that keeps you warm is going to be pretty valuable especially in the north. ![]() But overall I think this is a great adjustment to the game. ACTUAL change: looking into the wiki, i realise that accuracy is not listed anymore. You might want to check this topic. https://www.unrealworld.fi/forums/index.php?topic=5649.0 October 24, 2020, 04:47:38 PM |

Re: Lacking penalty information on setting traps
From the Version: 3.20 (patch 2) Released: 17-Mar-2015 in the news.txt Quote In short, higher the TRAPPING skill the more easily animals enter your traps and more reliably they stay trapped. Sorry for some wall of text but I think reading the forum posts are easier than skimming the news.txt file October 26, 2020, 06:16:10 PM |

Re: Buff up the elks, add swimming and jumping over fences
I don't think there will be any discussion because there is nothing to disagree with in the first place ![]() Maybe the reason it is really easy to go 1v1 with them is when you actually can get close to them they are almost always breathless. I got hurt pretty badly once from an elk attack, but I waited a few turns to actually see if they attack So if I'm not wrong, a solution can be to increase their chance to attack even if they are breathless. But I don't really know if going in a fistfight with and elk was the choice for the finnish hunters or the behaviour of the iron age finnish elks ![]() ![]() November 10, 2020, 09:51:39 PM |

Re: modding trees - tree painters needed
Ok I send this to the discord at first but I guess this is where it should also be posted. I draw a linden tree and me not knowing how to identify trees and amateur drawing skills. I would like to get your thoughts about this, I am planning to draw other ones in my free time too. We'll see ![]() December 12, 2020, 07:57:27 PM |

Re: modding trees - tree painters needed
It would be nice to find the finnish native ones. I kinda got lost there for a little bit because I had no idea how lindens looked like in finland ![]() I can try to draw the other trees so sources would be appreciated. December 12, 2020, 09:14:06 PM |

Re: tweaks to the flora modding (trees)
I second this ![]() Also being able to use different woods for different purposes would be really nice too. I made this suggestion before but it would seriously enhance realism IMO. December 14, 2020, 01:12:18 PM |

Re: Crowdfunding : your thoughts?
This Atlas Shrugged notion that every man is an island and must be an individualist is very ANTI-traditional. Do you think that society as a general is still holding up to their traditional values? I personally see single individuals more than complete societies. This is not an attempt to attack or criticise btw I am just curious about what you think because you are really standing with your opinion and seem to "got it" at life. At least that's what I'm thinking. Did you really find a decent amount of people that hold similar or the same values as you? Are you really able to live with your values with a society or rather just singled out in a society that is different from your values? I think this is one of the biggest reasons for traditional persons to be individualists. Most people nowadays think that the "Simple is better" is just there to keep people where they are. And people who actually think that way are singled out. Therefore, almost "forced" to be individualists. Of course there are exceptions but that's what I think at least, just wanted to put it out there. December 22, 2020, 11:05:50 PM |

Re: modding trees - tree painters needed
Nice drawings @Buoidda especially the juniper it looks fantastic. I think the shape looks way better than my version. For the Elm tree because you used the linden leaves, I used very bright colors while I was drawing its leaves. So the elm tree's leaves suddenly change colors on the bottom and upper areas. I downloaded the elm tree so I can help you with recoloring of it. If you need any other stuff or graphics done I'd be happy to help. It was very fun to draw the trees as I'm not really a pixel artist it was a fun challenge to stick faithful to the original drawings and create new trees and while I was doing the elm tree it proved to be a very tough one. ![]() If you would like to see my versions I can post them here. But it looks like you got the shapes quite nicely. We just need to adjust the leaves so that they don't use 2 different colour palettes. My elm looks very different than yours and I don't think I got the shape as good as yours. But it is a cool tree graphics anyways ![]() ![]() December 24, 2020, 01:31:24 AM |
