Re: Any way to find lost items? Exciting stuff. Thank you for doing the math.

I managed to find the items, although more through random luck than anything else.  I checked the hexidecimal positions to get a good idea of the area, and then simply searched systematically.  Not the most precise, but it worked.  If anybody knows a quicker way, you could still post it here to help others in the future.  I'm just happy to have my stuff :)

Lighting torches off of other torches? Currently, torches can only be lit from open fires.  This gets a little annoying if you are conducting protracted activities in caves.  I would think you should be able to light torches off other torches.

Re: Vagabonds
Yeah, I usually murder them too.  Usually I just ask if they have a quest, and if not, it's murder time.  I do feel slightly guilty, but then again, if you were starving to death in the woods... perhaps you'd do the same
You must be a poor player indeed, if you're character is constantly starving so you have to murder everyone you encounter to get something to eat...

That reply seems a bit harsh, maybe I'm just reading it wrong.
Well, it is harsh, but I think it's rather hypocritical to justify murdering everyone with desperate starvation. If you want to play as a mass murderer, go ahead, but don't justify it with a need for survival. See: "I usually murder them too.  Usually I just ask if they have a quest, and if not, it's murder time.". If it was truly a matter of survival the victim should be murdered regardless of whether a quest could be had or not, as those quests typically result in inedible rewards of information.

I can understand that some players would murder the first person they find to get started, but the spoils of that murder should be sufficient to buy the player time to become self sufficient. If you're using a "just in time" play style when it comes to food you might run into trouble again very occasionally, in particular if you use a house rule of not buying food, and so may decide that prolonged starvation would serve as a justification for an additional murder.

Thus, my response was based on the hypocritical justification rather than the choice of play style.
I was just joking in the first place.  I think sometimes my style of humor doesn't translate well to message boards

Re: Lighting torches off of other torches? Thank you, friend!  Yup, it was added in this update.  It's lovely to have a developer who listens so well and implements suggestions from the community.

Re: Rauko RIP, Rauko!  All great adventures must some day come to an end.  Rauko's life was greater than many.

Re: The same fatigue mechanics should apply to everyone. I agree, life is unfair for the player now.  I don't mind difficulty, but it must be fair.

Re: Rare random dead bodies There could be a quest... "My husband has not returned from hunting for 7 days, last I heard he was heading in the direction of Wolf Falls in the north-east..."  When you find the hunter, he is already dead.  Not dissimilar to the "Wounded Adventurer" quest.

I've thought for a while that it would be cool to occasionally find abandoned camps/settlements.  Some of the starting scenarios allow you to do this but it would also be neat for it to originate organically during play.

Re: Why are spears and javelins with lover damage than arrows yet are much bigger? A larger head does not = more damage to target, necessarily.  A smaller impact area can often mean more penetration.  I wouldn't be surprised if arrows do more damage, since the function of the bow is to project the arrow much harder than the human arm can throw.  This is why people use bows..... otherwise we would just throw an arrow.  Think about it, or do some research.  Weight and size are certainly not the only factors... the speed at which the projectile is moving is also a factor.  Which hurts more, a bullet fired from a gun at 1000 ft/second, or a baseball hurled by a person?  and yet the baseball weighs far more and is much larger

"Excuse me, sir... Could you tell me about this plant?" It would be nice to be able to ask shamen in towns about the local plant life.  Sometimes, when in a foreign area or if your herblore skill is poor, you will see plants growing around the neighborhood or in the fields and have no idea what they are.  You can't steal leaves or flowers to identify them, but why couldn't you just ask a friendly local?   It seems logical to me.

I'm not sure how this would work, exactly, since you would have to indicate a nearby plant.  Or, another alternative is that you could show the leaves or flowers to a sage and he could tell you.  This would not add to your herblore skill, and you would not be able to recognize the plant on your own without more practice, but you (the player) would have to remember, "Ah, pretty grass = bear pipe".

What do you think, good idea? or does it rob the gameplay of a necessary element of mystery?  Or is it just too impractical to implement?  Thanks!

Are the Northern Lights visible in Finland? If so, I just think it would be cool if they would show up on the weather screen sometimes.
