Suggestions / Re: Wearable trinkets
« on: December 27, 2017, 05:21:56 AM »
Just an aside, It is possible to use the provided mod environment to make an item like a necklace wearable.

If it's too much trouble, could you explain how to do that? I've wanted to make trinkets wearable as well, but I'm very green when it comes to modding this game

Say you have a "silver chain bracelet" (one of the valuables available) the task below would consume the bracelet and produce a bracelet that can be worn and will be on the forearm. This is an oversimplification of what could be involved but would serve the purpose. Putting this in the diy_glossary
will make the task appear on your menu.

Code: [Select]
.silver chain bracelet.  *COMMON*
{silver chain bracelet} (1) [remove]
[ARMOUR_COVERAGE:forearm]

OR you could look at the item and it tells you when you can continue.
Survival is also about managing your time.

I too think that before marriage there is much AI that could/should be filled out.

For NPC's to take a more lively role in the game, imo they need to "act" more like players. Some being friendly, some devious, some trusting, some dishonest and some just down right evil.

NPC's could/should serve as better wealth sinks. Consuming received foods, "using" /removing traded items, or reselling items at a profit.

 For bonding/marriage there needs to be some overarching danger/human drama/risk to NPC's;
You come home and a stranger has taken up with your spouse and cleaned you out.
A wild animal has attacked your spouse and you must care for them.
Your kid gets lost in the woods.
etc.

Possibly even look at enslavement vs bonding (if this is even historically correct).

This is a deep well topic ;)

Gameplay questions / Re: Item disappear bug

The game can only track a certain number of items inside an area, a branch or 10,000 branches on one space count about the same

 In an early iteration of the trainer; you collected body parts from your victims to enhance your skills;
Woodsman's hands increasing timbercraft
Shaman's togue increasing ritual
etc
etc

I found the cleanest solution for me was to have the whole corpse consumed in the task. Much as it is in the current trainer.

Not bugs / Re: Dead Njerpez weight remains fixed
« on: December 05, 2017, 01:04:34 AM »
This is not a bug. Carcasses have values in the game. Dealing with them ingame eg:skinning or butchering a carcass. allows the game to account for weight loss, skin loss etc. Trying to deal with them "outside" the game can be problematic in various ways. What you're seeing is "as long as you hold the object" the weight is tracked by your character (essentially). Once you drop the item on the floor it reverts to "It's" defined weight.

 (Tanning material)
This is not a thing.
(Bark) will work as it is a thing in game.
As for "fat" you would need to pattern match to use it, much the way the game is looking for an item named "Tanning material" in your inventory.

General Discussion / Re: Lifetimers and Supporting URW/Enormous Elk
« on: December 03, 2017, 07:22:12 PM »
http://www.unrealworld.fi/urw_donation-based.html Donation-based URW link to official.

There used to be a $35.00 USD donation limit to achieve Lifetime supporter (access), either one time or total of donations, in support of the game, it's continued development and of course the developer.

Steam release effectively did away with the donation based funding, but you can still donate to support this game and it's future.
