Re: i know it goes aginst the spirit but im frustrated with the fact its perma death Personally I would prefer it if there was no option to resurrect characters, that is why I choose to only play or make permadeath games.

I understand a reason to load saves for testing/development purposes, but in normal play even in standalone single player games cheating death is still cheating yourself and I refuse to do it and would prefer if the temptation was not there. This is just my personal ethics and I realise others have different views.

Re: Problems with finding a cave The bug, if it as one, is a bit more elusive. The cave is not at the centre of the F6 map cave marker, in fact that marker seems to move around a bit. Moving around zoomed out sometimes gives a message 'you have found a cave' but not always, it auto zooms in but sometimes to a mountain sometimes to a cave square, twice the cave zoomed in map did not have any sort of cave but one time it did, so I marked it on the F6 map, explored it inside and started building some fences and a door. Handily the west side is an open mire with lots of water.

I sent Sami a savegame before finding the cave so he can investigate if it is a bug or not. I intend to get some screenshots of what a newly discovered cave looks like and update the wiki so others will know what to look for, though having seen one it is now obvious.

Re: milkweed harvesting problem The BAC mod plant changes were for urw 3.63, they are not in the version I use, the changes were to about five crops like broad beans and hemp, no version of BAC that I have includes ant reference to milkweed or agriculture.

Tested without BAC and get the same error.

Re: [Solved - not a bug] milkweed harvesting problem Yes I confirmed it was not the programme d/l as with the old config settings I still got the problem, deleting all the config files cleared the error and recreated new files as needed, adding BAC mod did not cause problems so I am now going through the old files checking which mod may have caused it.

Ability to select starting position Following the discussion at http://www.unrealworld.fi/forums/index.php?topic=6072.15 about Nights scrpt to allow better chice of starting position as a option, is it possible to add some similar code to the vanilla game? The script requires Microsoft .Net to work which limits it usefulness on other systems and even some none technical windows users have problems, if it was in urw as an option, in some form, then it would be cross platform and better integrated.

Re: LiberaPay - Add as an Additional Payment Option to Support UrW Development? I have been using Libera Pay for 4 years, never got a cent from them, perhaps as Ineedcords said, people are reluctant to use a newish, unknown method even if it is NOT a faceless multinational blood sucker.

I would have added my link here but the forum does not run scripts.

Re: Use of a dead vagabond as bait I was somewhat upset when doing the unfortunate hunting accident that someone had made moral judgements on my behalf and prevented me from skinning and butchering my father, what a waste of resources.

Later I found someone skinning a bull elk in one of my traps, I made short work of him and rescued my winter food supply and clothing. I left his body as bait in the trap but never caught anything.

Re: Fishing bait - Worms, guts, and groundbait I did suggest some time ago that using the currently wasted resources from butchering would be good, mainly as a source of tsty offal to eat but that was before bait was introduced, this would be even more useful now, a tasty piece of liver would sustain you while the less appetising bits would be on your hook.

Goundbait might also be useful around nets for passive fishing.

Re: help with hunting and trapping I have had plenty of characters die but never from starvation, even doing the challenge, start in winter with nothing in your inventory. Sometimes my starvation gets up to about 40% but I usually freeze to death before dying of starvation.

In more normal starts I never use any of the easy setups, I would prefer not to have to add 5 skill points in custom so I use them in things I never use like weatherlore. I always accept whatever random character I get. First thing is to find a camp site, somewhere with a variety of plants and berries, near to water and with trees nearby. First thing after a shelter is make 5 snares which I scatter around the shelter, not to close but where I can see them just by turning around, I do not worry about the quality or initially about bait. I then settle down to making whatever tools and weapons I can and collecting berries , leaves and plants, if I can fish I try it once a day. Unless I am very lucky my initial food is gone on the third day. I keep going mainly on plants, eating ones I know are safe and one unknown one with each meal, this helps to train herbalism.

There seems to be a programme glitch you can exploit. if you have no fish or meat in your inventory or cellar in the first month or so then birds will tend to land on your snares and there is a 50% chance of catching a pike. Last week I was on my second day of no food when I tried fishing, while fishing 3 ducks land on snares and I caught a pike, while finishing the ducks of and resetting traps four more birds landed on the snares. Enough food for a week and during that week no more birds in traps or fish on hooks. Then two days after my food ran out I caught another pike a found two birds and a hare in the snares. This only seems to work with snares I have not seen this with other types of traps.

Incidentally I never sacrifice anything, I worked hard to get whatever it was and if the spirits are so powerful then they should be able to get whatever they want themselves.
